Quick Question, Ego Hose Leak

I was thinking to use teflon tape, but I need to get it off and its being a problem turning it, I don't want to break it.

Should I bother unscrewing it or simply use loctite, I'd like to do something that isnt temporary.

Pic of where its leaking from (first time I gassed it up ever and it leaked, so I didn't play around with the length of the hose or anything)

I searched the forums , looked at stickies and manual but no solution there. !

Flaming = lame, but thanks for the help

You're going to have to unscrew it to loctite it properly. Put some muscle into it and you should be able to get it off.

Mine was a ***** to get off when i had to take apart my reg. But I used a vise and big adjustable wrench and came right off. Vise is key, just wrap the asa in a towel.

Reverse teflon the threads and screw it back in to where u want. I think teflon is better designed to pervent a leak..

Part of the reason it is hard to get off is b/c it has loctite on it from the factory...

nah...wrap the Teflon the opposite way the threads go...So if you tighten by turn right then wrap the Teflon to the left. Either way I don’t think it will make a huge difference. It’s just a proper way of doing it.

There's different types of loctite, so it depends on which one you use. I just use teflon on my fittings.

Red is high strength

Yea I got a used 06 and i was like theres is a leak in the reg. But it was the macro line. It was all messed up. So I put a new one on and it's gone works perfecct. One question if u put too long of a macro line on there will the pressure from the macro bending mess up the macrolone fitting? and cause leaks.

I can't see why, as long as it clicks in right (07 clicks I donno about any other ego).

I'll go with the teflon tape

is it leaking at the threads or is it leaking at the macroline end? there is an oring in the macroline end that may be bad or missing, or the macro line may have a scratch that is causing the leak. If it is the macro line side that is leaking try putting a little grease on the end of the macroline or on the oring in the fitting and make sure the macroline is all the way into the fitting. if it is the threaded end use teflon tape or blue loctite. if you use loctite you have to let it dry before you gas it up. red, blue and purple loctite all seal the same. the difference is the "strength" of the lock. red is high strength "permanent" and for large fasteners. you need heat to melt it to remove it. blue is medium strength and good for smaller fasteners. it will come apart with normal tools. purple is low strength. it works really well for the small fasteners and fittings on a paintball gun, but it is expensive and hard to find.

I use teflon because I am too impatient to wait for loctite to dry. Just be carefull not to let any teflon get into the gun. only wrap the threads and dont let it hang over the end of the fitting. also when you take apart a fitting make sure you clean out the threads really well before you put it back together. even a tiny piece of teflon tape will screw up your noid if it gets in there.
