Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not that easy to damage your gun. If the shims are in wrong, your velocity will be inconsistent and might be in a range that is too high or too low and that is what could possibly damage the reg seat or noid. But for the most part, it'll just be a pain in the *** when you're chronoing.
