when i put in my qev, what would i be accomplishing if i didn't drop my dwell? I think i would get a few more shots per tank, and a big increase of consistancy over the chrono. Is this true, or should i just lower it but not a lot.....what do you guys think??

okay this stuff ionfusing the crap out of me
dwell 48
rof 0
is good for a stock gun got that

but could you break it down a little

all the mods i have are 360 QEV and a Unicorn Nano bolt so will 48 0 work for me?? ost likely but it will not be the best setting correct??

Since you have a QEV you will want to lower your dwell to the 12-22 range.

You can find the perfect settings by using the guide at the beginning of this thread.

I jacked up my dwell settings, so I did what you said at the first of the thread, lower dwell all the way(till it stops blinking) then increase 52 blinks.

So, it increased on my stock board 1/2 millisecond increments right, so I should have put my dwell back to stock? Just making sure because I read the whole 4 pages of this thread, and got a little confused, sorry.

Kolder, I was just wondering what exactly you meant by "fully cycling." Could you explain that in an easy way for a complete newb like myself? I haven't the slightest idea of what that could be.

The bolt moves all the way forward in the breech and the gun sounds like it is shooting fully. If it is not cycling all the way it sounds dull or muffled.

What Tech page and what is the contradiction?

This page here, it says the best combo for a stock Ion is probably dwell at 40 and recharge at 8. It makes it seem that recharge does affect the gun's performance.

If I'm understanding you correctly the recharge on everyone's Ion should be at 0, regardless of dwell setting.

This thread is correct. And any Ion tech or knowledgeable person out there will back me up. Recharge (ROF) has zero performance affect on the marker other then limiting the Rate of Fire.

A stock ion with the dwell of 40 will probably experience drop off and inconsistency issues. The lowest I recommend a stock Ion user to se their dwell is 48.

Stock Ion?

Recharge (ROF) 0

This will allow you to shoot 17 bps.

Well, you need to see if the bolt is fully cycling or not, so yes, you will need air.

ok I got a question about dwell setting. I have a ion with a T board and virtue eyes. Every thing else on my gun is stock, and I want to shoot 20bps at my max rof, so what should my dwell setting be? Right now its at the factory default setting 34ms.

Does your bolt cycle w/o problems? is your velocity consistent? do you have an aftermarket bolt? if not that sounds a little low, but every ion is different

Yes, pretty much, unless you wish to cap your gun at a certain rate of fire such as 15 bps or 12 bps for example.

A stock Ion can be slightly adjusted, but not much.

The Stock dwell is set at 52. I recommend going no lower then 48, most people experience drop off after lowering it further.
