Pump Vendors. An explanation for new pump players.

So after seeing countless threads about people wondering shipping/correspondence from a pump item vendor I decided to vent a little.

First, pump is still basically a grass roots aspect of the game. Most of the "big" pump vendors are 1 or 2 man operations working there sites in thier free time between there full time jobs.

Just calm down if you don't get an immediate response from a vendor. They will get back with you and in a more one on one fashion.

Pump is a thinking mans version of paintball, both in game and in the "lifestyle". If you need a part, piece, or mojo by this weekend I guess you should have used the 5 letter word of the day(think).

Order ahead and often. If you want faster service order alot of stuff. So much stuff, people like Wevo can quit there jobs and do paintball full time.

Just my humble opinion.

Another thing. I don't mean for this to apply and single out just Wevo. People like Matt(I am horrid with names so I could be wrong on this) from www.pbmafia.com, HaveBlue w/ www.airsoldier.com, Joe(again horrid w/ names) from www.whitewolfairsmithing.com, Lee AKA Punisher's Customs, list could go on, are all one or two man operations. If memory serves me correctly even the god in Oregon (Mike Cassidy of www.phantomonline.com) is a one or two man operation.

The whole pump "industry" is centered around this type of vendor.

I dont disagree... but the vendor are also responsible to declare that if you order, it might take x number of weeks before they can ship realistically.

Anodizer does it really well. They always state how much work they are queued up.

So far in my experience, Wevo is the only pump vendor that’s stay consistent through out the years. If I see something wevo has it for a few dollar more, I would buy it from him.

Whitewolf still gets to me. I understand the issues at hand but it might take all of 5 seconds to send an email letting me know when stuff will be in stock or shipped when I've been waiting for months [and I'm talking new product, not mill or anno work.] He should hire his grandma to do it or something...

Either way, he's lost me as a customer.

It's a 2 way street. I defend the vendors as much as I can, I always give them the benefit of the doubt. I try to be flexible with them to make both of our lives easier, whoever I am dealing with at the time. And if you want it yesterday then you're in the wrong part of the Industry.

However that support for them all being said. They do have to hold up their side of the table. Not ignoring emails. No lying to their customers about product status. "It's all done, I'll have it in the mail tomorrow" you hear that every couple weeks for a few months, yeah that puts a very sour and bitter taste in your mouth. If you simply haven't had the time to get to their gear because somebody else's project is taking longer than expected, then man up and tell them that.

Absolutely these are almost all 1 man operations. So expecting a reply to your email in 30 minutes and your project to be completed in 1 month for $20 is asinine. But that's no excuse for some of the garbage that gets pulled. And I am not going to name names, point the finger, etc. It's simply a general statement. Again. Respect is a 2 way street.

Only thing about WWA that I'll say is that the best thing he ever did was put stuff on Ebay.

I think the whole point of this thread was to NOT bash on any of these vendors... Let's please stop here before this turns into yet another of the threads it was trying to prevent.

It is true with anything custom or one off or small market in any type of retail you got to wait, now you guys whine because of wait times, try being in Canada like some of us that order custom gear, and you can tack on 1 month - 3 months to the USA wait time for your gear to clear customs, and then you get hit with duty and import fees also. Just order and wait, and when it finally comes jump up and down with joy
