Just a heads up that teams from UC Irvine, CSU San Marcos, and Santa Clara U are travelling to Dallas this weekend to compete in the National Collegiate Paintball Association National Championships at X-Drenalin Zone. These Cali teams will compete in the Class AA 5-man format.
UCI is the defending National and Season Champions of Class AA and are currently tied for First place in the nation after regular season play. Look for Santa Clara to make a statement after winning the Huntington Beach Open last month. CSUSM is another up-and-coming Cali team that is making their first appearance at nationals.
This year sees 3 Cali colleges appearing at nationals, up from 1 last year and 0 the years before. College paintball is making serious headway in California and the future is very bright for the West coast division. CSU Long Beach will join other Cali teams as a serious powerhouse next year.
