Adobe is making a lens...
So adobe is making a lens with like 19 smaller lens inside it. My friend was briefly telling me aobut an article in Popular Science or something like that. I dont know for sure exactly what it is but each lens is smaller 5MP. Here is a small video that i think shows what it will be able to do...

well i cant imagine how much it will cost. not to mention the file save of the images. it seems like it captures every setting possible and saves it, like RAW but more advanced.

It's neat, but I'm not sure it will change a whole lot. If you can't get your image in focus you're not exactly the quality of photographer who will suddenly take over the art world once they give you a camera to overcome that deficiency.
I imagine that lenses specifically tailored to certain apertures such as the 85 1.2 will continue to take better quality images simply because of the amount of RnD in optics that's already been invested, and I imagine Nikon and Canon will continue to have better capturing technology (ie the sensors).
So yeah, it's a really big deal... kinda

That's actually kind of neat, a bunch of different focus points in one lens. Only thing is, I imagine it's rather heavy, not to mention, costly, and will take a lot of memory.

basically takes 19 different pictures at once and then you can manipulate all of them to focus on what ever you want.
like in the pop sci article they showed a photo where they put a man close to the lens in focus then a woman further back way outta focus then there were trees way in the background and he put those into focus. then it goes on to say eventually you will be able to focus images in your browser however you'd like (obviously they'd have to be images taken with that particular lense)

Meh.. they're just trying to show off. Doesn't seem practical. I mean, if you can't focus your shot right....
