It was kind of a stupid choice on my part, along with a lack of poll options. I should've replaced Statanism with Buddhism, but whatever. I grouped the 2 together because Buddhism is Non-Theist and Agnosticism questions a God. Whatever.

I picked the agnostic/buddhist one. Mainly because I consider myself an agnostic, but I am also very interested in buddhism, like studying it, and applying its lessons to my daily life.

Agnostic and Atheist are more similar than Agnostics and Deism. Atheists hate agnostics.

True, but I think we can all agree that it would make more sense than Agnostic/Deist/Buddhist.

fyi, there's several major sects of christianity, not just catholic and noncatholic. and within those, there's many many many different theologies that are pretty different. theres at least catholic, protestant, and orthodox. you could include mormonism in there, but i wouldnt.
heres a basic chart from the wiki for yall
see how a single choice (christianity) splits into 8-10 separate choices? now imagine that kind of thing for the majority of the current options
and that is why these polls never work

Bingo. FYI - the Mormon Church falls into the realm of Restorationist Christianity; thus the 'claimed' lineage.

If someone really wants to get this poll thing done, just make a thread with links to however many other threads it takes to cover all the bases.

I'm not an idiot. Of course I know there are dozens of sexts of Christianity. But do you really want me to take out Judaism, Islam, etc for all these complicated sects? What about allthe different atheistic beliefs? Do you want me to make one choice for "Believe there is no God" and "Know there is no God"? Sory, but I had a limited number of options, so lets just say our beliefs and not ridicule me, mmk?

atheists believe that there is no god and I for one am not open to there actually being a god, while an agnostic has the belief that there is a higher power but they do not want to risk putting all their chips into the pile and committing to one religion.

Agnostics don't necessary believe there is a God. They just hold that we don't know anything, and have no proof either way. It's not the "risk putting all their chips in one place", just that we think a lot of organized religion is bull****.

You've confused agnosticism with deism. Agnostics say that there is no prove for either sides, so they choose neither side. They're like the Swiss of religion.

That would fall under the 'Non-Catholic Christian Sect' option.

I'm Agnostic because it's the only one that makes any damn sense to me. When any side shows me any shred of proof, I'll take a look. Otherwise, it's just ridiculous in my eyes.
