I actually know many folks in the Bible Belt in the south and non of them believe Jesus was white/Caucasian. the ones I know believe pretty much zactly what X_paint described. In fact, the ONLY group (in general) that I know of that claim "Christianity", that believe Jesus was white is the KKK; and well, I hope that isn't what most people think of when they think of what Christianity is, even in the south.

Obviously, it depends on how you think it. It's faith. Whatever you believe regardless what others think. Some think Jesus was never to exist, personally I do. But that's my personal opinion. Whether he was black, white, asian, or middle eastern, it relies on what YOU believe. Obviously it can never be proven, and never will be. If it were proven, it'd piss millions of racists off, so I doubt it will ever be announced, even if found.

It is a Jewish state, meaning that the main religion the country was founded on(if you can call it "founded")was judaism.

Jesus wasn't black or white, he was Hebrew. Like all Jews at the time, he was descendant of the original tribes that split into Israel and Judah. The people of these tribes can be referred to as Hebrews or Jews. The name was used not only for their religion, but also their ethnicity and national identity. Only when Israel was re-established in the 40's was the term Israeli used to describe a certain nationality.

If Jesus were Egyptian or Nubian, then perhaps he could have been black. But even Egyptians were mostly Arabic during the time of the Roman Empire, and even now. Jesus lived in an area that was inhabited mostly by Arabs, Persians, and Hebrews. African slaves would have been common along with other nationalities. However, because Jesus was the son of a Carpenter and a descendant of King David, and spoke Aramaic, he was more likely than not a Hebrew. No evidence points to him being black or white. He was not Arabic or Persian either. He was an Aramaic speaking Hebrew, period.

Ever heard of Josephus? He was basically like a news reporter during Jesus' "alleged" time of death. Even he wrote about Jesus. However, we know this is credible because some of his writings were anti-Jesus and some weren't. He was a neutral news source.

Actually the state of Isreal did not exist untill after Moses brought the "jews" from slavery to the promise land, which was called Isreal.

I am not sure as to when they were given that name, other than when they were first called that aorund the time of Moses.
