settings

ok well im getting into photography a little more now. like cruising with friends since we all have sports cars and such, and taking pics.

what are some good settings for day shots and night shots.

liek for day wats best for iso, and exposure and such.
and same for night time. i just use my friends snapshot camera but will be picking up a nicer camera soon, just wanna know what kind of settings are go for day and night shots and such. night shots i like the pics people have without flash and its very colorful from the surounding light and such.

these where the only 2 good pics i got off a few nights ago. where the color was nice for late evening shot.

thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

What camera? Does it have metering? Does it have manual controls?

Do you have strobe-age?

i work full time at an automotive service center. ive had money saved up when i worked an old job for 3 years.

all of my friends have jobs, all out of HS for awhile so weve been working, and most of us are in the automotive field. so dont talk, when you dont know. im well aware naperville is high in the economic status. but not everyone in naperville drives a ferrari or bmw.

but back on topic.

just would like to know whats to set some of the stuff at for certian light conditions.

Several settings effect the exposure.

There isn't a magical exposure button.

If you're thinking about getting a Powershot S3IS spend a little more dough and get a Canon Rebel XT with the kit lens. It will be much easier to learn photography with that camera.

Maybe some kind of automated exposure scene option, basically the camera does a poor job of making decisions for you. There is no magic exposure button.

S3IS is a nice PnS, it will allow full manual controls over WB, shutterspeed, aperture, ISO, ect.

Yours doesn't have that?
It's on mine right next to the "Make Picture Awesome Slider"
