The lettering on his shirt, and the light playing across his hands, made me think he had a cig - I was like WTF?

yeah, the lighting was tough because even though the suns behind me, it's about 10:30 here so it's up in the sky high enough that the baseball caps are casting a hard shadow on the players faces. That's real tough to deal with epecially for black players because if you expose for their face you blow all your highlights. So, I just try to find a happy middle ground and pull it out as best I can in PS. I lightened the highlights in curves a tad and used shadows/highlights just a bit.

But if you can't see his face at all you might want to check your monitor. I can see it pretty well on the mac my wife uses for her graphic design work.

Exposure is fine, his face is in shadow, but visible. I think I might have gone tighter, but its not bad at all - just not astounding. Some mother would buy it, so success

hey lost. I really like it. but I have a suggestion...

when I looked at it on my laptop monitor it was really dark and the colors were deep due to the angle that I was viewing it at. But when I looked at it on my desk top mac, it was a lot lighter. I can see some of the detail on the road and the fence/railing.

I liked it better darker. I'd darken it up in curves and up the saturation a bit. Put the forground completely in shadows. And bring out the orange, pink and blue in the sky.

hey, I wasn't trying to be mean. I was just messing around with you and also trying to make a point. If you are going to PP them anyway, then why post the originals? Me personally, I'd just post the PP version. But that's just me.

obviously both of those will be greatly improved with some very basic PS adjustments. You should be able to really get the colors in that helment to pop. And I'll bet that you can pull some nice colors out of that second one with some work. They still won't be great, but they'll be better, no doubt.

welcome back crane... you been busy lately? havn't seen you around much. thought maybe you got deployed on a top secrect mission to photograph something really important... like Brittney shaving what little hair she has left on her body... hmmm

ok, seriously, I really like the angle on the second one. That's something I really need to work on. I'm just to "inside the box" on that.

I like the battle in the snake. How the hell did the guy on the far end not hit the other guy when he was coming in? I see in that second pic of that battle that he got some shots off.. WTH?

Oh, and make sure to check out my ghetto studio shots...

Did that guy just chop, or did he actually shoot a ball out of the air? I've seen it in person a couple times, but never a photo of it...
