The Grillz are white, i left them in a purple dye bath overnight and they barely absorbed any colour, i used the liquid dye not the powder...

I dyed some i4's neon pink but I boiled the water in a large pot, added the rit dye as it was boiling and then heated my mask under hot water in the sink, then placed the mask into the boiling pot with the stove still on and let them in/rotated them/checked them. After about 30 minutes I had my desired color. After cleaning them with soap/water the next day and cleaning off all the bleed it is nearly a flawless dye job with 0 dark spots. Came out very clean in the end!

PS: No there were 0 negative affects by leaving them in the boiling water, the mask is 100% the same shape it was and it took the neon dye quite well. I never let the water get hot enough to boil over or anything of that nature but i kept it on the entire time. Obviously the time it takes will depend on the color you are wanting and how much you use. I did add more than 1 packet after a while to get them a darker shade.

This is the only pic I have of them. Once im done with the customers wrap the pink ones will be getting wrapped in bright green cf for a watermelon theme before putting up for sale.

The white on my Stormtrooper took too much abuse, so I'm trying something new. Will post results, but so far, not awesome.

I'm aware this question has probably been asked, but I'm at school and don't have time to read everything. Has anyone dyed grillz, also if its not possible then would acetone fix it like stated? Thanks

You don't have to, but the dye can be a ***** to get out of the foam. If you don't get it all out, you'll look like a raccoon every time you wear it.

Hey guys, so further to my last i got my grills close to the colour i wanted, but it worked..

Method was too get 11L stock pot (measurements will be in Metric as i'm from Australia and can't do conversions of top of my head)
Fill to about 10L
Add 2 packets of Rit powder dye
Stir to dissolve
Put on stove and heat to about simmering
Place mask in
Leave for half an hour at a slow simmer
Pull out and wash under warm running water

started out as White now Purple

I am attempting to dye a set of White Jt proflex bottoms orange. I have had no problem with a set of revo ears and a white frame, but I cannot get the bottoms to take up dye. I am using a fresh bottle of RIT sunshine orange with the stove top method. I am not using as much water as they call for because I do not have a container large enough to hold 2 gallons on my stove top. I did scrub the white portion with acetone and a toothbrush before I started dyeing the piece.

It has been in the dye for approximately 3 hours and remains a dirty yellow tinged color.

Am I doing anything wrong? I am stirring the dye approximately every 15 minutes while keeping the water at a simmer. Is there another method to make the white bottoms take up dye?

EPS white bottoms (pearl)? or White Revolution bottoms?

I'd search back through this thread about the EPS white bottoms. I believe others have had issues dying those. The white Revo bottoms are more rubbery than plastic or vinyl and I would not expect them to take dye very well at all.

These started as ACU Profits. I originally tried to make it a red base color, but it wouldn't get dark enough. When I added a little black into the red, purple was the result, so I changed up what I was wanting to compliment it.

Has anyone had an issue with the dye wiping off when you wipe a paint hit off? I dyed a pair of Nightmare Grills. First off I wanted them to be Lime Green. So I got RIT Kelly Green. They came out blue. Not so bad but now the dye is actually wiping off when I wipe paint off. Anyone seen this?

Yes, gotta soak it in soap in soapy water or wipe it with clean white paper towels and 70/30 alcohol to water.

Anytime you dye a mask you have to clean it really really good afterwards to get rid of all the dye that didnt soak into the pores
