And you might be surprised how well you'd do - remember that all the other teams are high school teams too.

Yeah, I understand. I know all of the other teams will be high school teams too, but my team would be composed entirely of freshman and I will probably be the only decent player on my team. On top of that this is kind of short notice so I dont have alot of time to gather the funds. Do you guys think you will be hold this same event in the future? Because I would love to play it once I get a little older and have a better chance of doing well...

There is no scholarship money for playing tournaments. Scholarships are based on service, scholarship, and promoting the sport. (http://www.college-paintball.com/scholarship.html for more information.)

High School teams are high school teams. If you want to play national-level 7-man, then you should play on a national-level 7-man team. I'd like to think, as you alluded to, that high school play is a little more relaxed, partially because it's so much less expensive and there's thus no prize-performance-pressure.

I think you're worrying too much about what place you'll end up. When I started playing college ball (high school paintball didn't exist back then) I sucked. But I had a blast. And a couple years later we were National Champions. Go out and take the opportunity to play Huntington Beach, the premiere event of the year, and have some fun and not worry so much about what place you end up. It'll be a nice change of pace and you'll have a great time, trust me.

Instructions are on the registration page of the website, http://www.college-paintball.com/high/events.html. Just follow them - all you need to do is fill out a form online and the ID number will be emailed to you.

Yeap, 5.

Quote:

Probably one or two fields of fields 3,4,5 and 6, but I won't know until the 24th probably.

Unfortunately, if your school district has two high schools, all the players need to be from the same high school. You can't have a team with players from both schools.

few quick questions.

1. i just register on the website and its fine as long as we all go to the same school - no age limits, correct?

2. the prize for regionals is all expense paid trip to nationals - says a chaparone must be present (you win 4 seats)
-what is considered a chaparone? lets say theres an 18 year old, 17 year old, and 15 year old (or a 17 year old) - does an 18 year old qualify?

3. what are prizes for nationals?

1. how will # of games be decided according to # of teams registered? round robin?

2. If registered by tomorrow for HB, but not paid, will this waive us from the +25$ after tomorrow? or will we need to pay by tomorrow to avoid the +25$

3. Say we win first, can we keep prize money and not go to nationals

4. NPPL rules?

5. Would price for HB be lowered anymore? as Young Guns is an actual NPPL division with prizes and this is just a bunch of samehighschool nubs playing.. haha or 350$ final now?

No. We're looking for a parent or a teacher or some such.

Most of the events are FPO. For the Southwest one, you can get paint from any of the NPPL paint vendors. For the Midwest one, it's BYOP. All others are FPO.

Stop trying to get them to lower the prices, if you do not like it, then do not play it, simple as that!
Seriously, this is a service to high school players, and to get the sport growing, if they feel like setting this up is like pulling teeth, then no more for us!

Depends entirely on the number of teams registered.

I extended the deadline to one week before the event. But, you need to pay to lock in the entry fee price, signing up alone won't do it.

Quote:
3. Say we win first, can we keep prize money and not go to nationals
No. the intent of the prize is to get the best teams to Nationals. If your primary goal in playing paintball is to win money, play NPPL 7-man. Or XPSL.

Quote:
4. NPPL rules?
To keep things simple, at the NPPL event, rules wil be the same as the 3-man Young Guns.

Quote:
5. Would price for HB be lowered anymore? as Young Guns is an actual NPPL division with prizes and this is just a bunch of samehighschool nubs playing.. haha or 350$ final now?
$350 is as low as it will go unless our cost to be there changes, which is probably not likely. $350 is already an INCREDIBLE deal for playing Huntington Beach.

We understand that people who want to win prizes may not play the event, and we are 100% fine with that. This is geared towards people who want to play with their schools and have a good time. Prizes just brings along all sorts of behavior that hinders people's ability to have a good time and we don't want it.

My high school is part of a technical school that is right across the street. The high school is on it's own but we send kids over there in the afternoons to get job training, so would that be considered part of my high school or no?

I've got a friend that goes there and plays and I think he'd be interested.
