Intel free Vista

I own an Alienware (dont flame) and I heard that Dell was giving Vista ups to alll their customers. Well Alienware is owned by Dell, so do i get t3h hookupz?

so wait........I have a six year old Dell (with tons of upgrades of course), does this mean that I can call them up and they will ship me vista???

sounds too good of a deal, at least in my case

Actually they use both AMD and INTEL. My Dell E1505 laptop uses an Intel Core Duo chip.

But to answer your question... no, you dont. DELL was offering it to customers who purchased SPECIFIC products during a specific time frame. If you didn't purchase a VISTA free upgrade marked product during that period you're not eligible for the update.

Dell advertises their Core 2 Duo computers. My e1705 has a Core 2 Duo processor. They only offer AMD chips for their lower end models.

Vista Sucks For Gaming Right Now. I would use it if it came on a new comp. Then again I wouldn't ever buy a pre-built PC again. Put it this way, unless you don't play PC games, wait to get Vista. Sure it looks nice, but it really isn't (at least yet) superior to XP.
