New Monitor
Well I am now in the market for a new monitor, and I so happened to stumble upon this beast, tell me what you think of it. Its going to be used for gaming and Hi-Def vid. I think it would be more reasonable than purchasing both a 24" 1920x1200 monitor($750) and a 52" DLP 1900x1080 bigscreen($2000), plus it is going in my room

Most $1000 lcd's are going to look better than a tv in the same price range. If you dont need the tuner or speakers then definitely go with the lcd. If you're looking for a 30" I would go with Dell's 3007. Samsung makes the panels for Dell so it will look just as good as that Samsung but its cheaper. I have two Dell lcd's and I love them both.

If you have the cash to spare, go for it. It would look pretty kick *** and that resoluation would be sexy. Take pics and post them up when you get it.

How much money do you have total?
Are you looking for one screen, or two? LCD, DLP, Plasma, or CRT?

CRT is the only good monitor for gaming.
FW900 - look it up... you can grab one for under $300 and it'll do HD stuff and games better than anything you can imagine...

Please explain why a CRT is better than an LCD for gaming? And if you say it's because LCD's ghost, your just talking out of your *** and repeating what the idiot at Best Buy told you.

Or I've been playing games since the early 90's, played every type of game, on every kind of monitor or TV.
CRT's are still the best.
I use an FW900... 100 pound 24" Widescreen CRT... I had a VX922 19" 2ms response time LCD... only LCD I could ever stand more than 20 minutes.
If Best buy even sold CRT's I'd look at them... Thanks for informing me how low your IQ has sunk.
When you can run games at 1920 x 1200 at 98Hz refresh rate at 100-200FPS with no ghosting, no lag, perfect picture on an LCD... Let me know, I'll sell this 100lb thing... Until then... shut up.

I want an FW900. I don't have the cash nor the will to search for one though. CRT'S have no input lag, response time bs, anything that LCD's have wrong. Also, CRT'S are not pixel based; they don't get bad pixels. CRT's also have an almost full color gamut.
CRT>LCD in terms of performance
LCD>CRT in terms of usability

I got real lucky, found one locally (30 min drive) for $250... perfect condition...
I'm looking for a second one... editing HD Videos and watching them on this monitor is insane.
I swear there were ones on ebay going for $150-200 but only local pickup in the Midwest area... you should look into it...
