that could be a blockage in the noid. If you got a dirty air fill a particle could have gotten in your noid.

You may have to disassemble the noid and find a very thin needle (a sewing needle might work) and try to unblock the nipple in the front of the noid.

Also, before you do anything, just try changing your battery.

It isn't recommended that you try to clean the solenoid. You need to put a fresh battery in and increase the dwell.

That wouldn't create a hiccup sound, guys. And I've taken my noid apart many times. It's really no big deal.

well guess what ya'll.....i went throught the solenoid and lubed it up . turns out that the valve in the manifold housing looks a valve from a transmission valve body , lol . those of you that dont know i am a certified transmission tech for ford motor company . i felt right at home with this one, lol . i cleaned and worked the valve in the bore and lubed it up......put it back together and voila ! rips again . i kinda knew it wasnt batteries, i had put a fresh one in on saturday .

sooooooooo..........pat yourself on the back brute06..........it appears you were right .
