removing old asa

im not replacing it i just need to take it off so i can get the valve out. i got the bottom half of the reg off thinking it was one peice. how do i get the top half off.

There are several things can try. The only way that I see getting it off is to use a set of grips. I actually used a small rubber belt to buffer the grips and the reg so that i wounldn't damage or scratch the top piece. Good Luck!

Just get a good grip on the ASA Adapter part of the gauge too and TWIST its not hard at all, donot use hardware youll end up scratcing somthing

If he has an older bushy (which is sounds like) with the older style reg, there is no ASA. The newer bushys have the ASA, but the older ones have a reg that can be parted into two pieces. I believe that he has an older one based on his post. So it's a little more complicated than just removing the ASA since the older Bushys just had a reg and no ASA.

ya it is a lil bit harder, just a lil bit tho...sigh. the peice u have to turn is like 1/4inch and its round... i got tired of it and just took my wrench and ripped it apart, i got it off tho. its cool cuz im replacing it next month(my bday)
