ok then the alien is

faster(not that it matters for 15bps caped tornys)
smaller
lighter
lower profile
more air efficient
less after game matinance

none of that is knocking your dm4 which is still a excellent gun and will hold its own vs anything else on the field

do like the matrix series to play with but to many o-rings i know its only a clean and a lube after each game but still annoys me

actually after owning both.....hmmm probably ceptor.

Efficiency is not that much different though. My DM4 w/ orange bolt, 530 and tophat mods, and fine tuning was getting about 1200-1300 on a 68/4500 fill, which is right around what you can expect from the ceptor.

DM is bigger, heavier. DM is quieter. DMs have more available ups like triggers, bolts, chips, etc.

Given the ups you have on your DM4, its a decision you have to make as far as weight and size and sound signature.

Something you have to decide for yourself.

look at the existing DM VS thread, found in the VS sticky.

Per VS Thread rules this one is closed.

[edit] after a quick look, there is no DM vs Inteceptor VS thread in the sticky (I thought there was one? Myabe I missed it?) Until the other one is found I'll consider this one as a candidate for the Offical Alien VS DM series of markers.

of course dm4 will shoot smoother, but is a huge brick. i would take alien just because of size and weight. might be a TAD more efficecnt. the alien is also a lot more care free and easier to care for.

plus, teh aliens have a great feeling frame (it grows on you), and probably teh sexiest trigger in paintball IMO. i dunno why, but i can shoot on those things like no other both hands equally, its insane. one of my huge regrets about jack's new gun is he is changing the triggers.

The size of the DM4 really isn't that big of an issue. The thing feels solid, but not that heavy. Sure it's taller, but with a hopper, paint and tank, the difference really isn't that noticeable. Both guns are just as fast and efficient. The DM is smoother and quieter, but the Alien is easier to maintenance and deal with. It's you own choice, but I would pick the DM simply because of personal preference.

I disagree. I can EASILY feel the difference between them. Sure the Dm4 is smoother, but the Interceptor will get better efficiency.

I agree with a5br, the difference is actually really noticeable. My friends dm4 with just a tank (just the tank, no air) was as heavy as my gun with a full tank and empty hopper. Very noticeable.

I remember when the DM4 was the smallest lightest thing anyone had ever seen, man 3 years goes by fast.

I remember when my friend was paying 4 times what I could pay for a dm4 today.

I'd shoot the Dm4. You don't have to lube it after each game. I lube/clean my Dm4 bolt once a month max. thats after playing atleast each sunday, usually more often.

Both are nice, But I prefer the Dm4, and matrix's in general.
