Rabidhobo's DM4 project...
I've done a lot of custom work in the past. I've messed with angels, and I put the dm4 frame and the rest of the junk on Speedballbob12's dm3. I recently recived a shocktech shocker in a trade, so I've been using that to play. (I traded one of my custom angels away) I got bored with my DM4 and decided that I could do some custom milling to it. I have a vertical mill and a dremmel, and i've just been shaving this thing down. I've also cut a window behing the feedneck. Soon, I'm going to be doing a little more work(removing the hump), then sending it off to anno.
im not going to looks, im trying to reduce alot of weight.
LASTEST UPDATE!!!!

Have you aired it up since the cut behind the feedneck? I think that cut will cause your bolt to return slower and basically screw your gun. IIRC that is where the can goes which controls the solenoid/lpr air and I think you opened it up to the rest of the world. I also think the cut looks aesthetically bad, however the rest could come together I think.

DM4's have about a half inch of extra length to the bolt that doesn't really need to be there. He made the cut in that spot, it wont leak, but its probably going to be a magnet for dirt and other crap to scratch up your bolt. It should be interesting to watch shoot though, being able to see the movement of the bolt in a DM.

now just cut a piece of clear polycarbonate to go in the window so dirt doesnt get in there and it would be sick!!

ya you could almost make a little inlay or something for the polycarbonate to go into instead of just laying the window right on the body..

looks pretty good.
sorry to hijack thread, is there a gun out there that can run at such a low pressure you can replace part of the side with a window of plexiglass (sp?) and watch all the internals work?

there are spots in the bolt assembly that don't hold any pressure on the outside, so you could cut some windows near the back too, that'd be sweet but you'd have to be really careful and really know what you're doing.

sorry, I was thinking of shockers that don't hold pressure around the firing cans (I think?).
but anyway, looks nice, you should take the weight of it after you get it all done.
