Trigger issue on Hybrid SFT frame

hey guys,

I would greatly appreciate any help that people can provide to this problem.

I just bought a Hybrid SFT frame to be part of my new custom shocker build. As soon as I got it I noticed that the trigger did not move as freely as I remember Hybrid triggers moving. In fact, once you pull the trigger, it does not return at all. I have to physically move the trigger back to its neutral position before pulling it to fire again.

I found a thread on PBN that mentions that the middle screw on the hybrid triggers locks the trigger to the pivot pin. Upon closer inspection, the middle screw on my trigger appears to be stripped and I can't adjust it at all.

So nation, what do I do now? Should I epoxy a sacrificial allen key to the middle screw to remove it? And even if I did, what do I do after that?

Is the magnet in place?

And yeah I would sacrifice an allen. I assume the trigger is pushed to one side and rubbing against the frame causing it to stick. You also might want to give those bearings s cleaning.

yes the trigger is tight to the right side of the frame, which is the issue.

I tried spraying some wd40 into the bearings but that didn't do much.

It is the top allen screw of the 3 that lock it to the pivot pin. The middle screw bumps the frame pin as a post travel stop. The bottom screw hits the micro switch. Also if you don't have the older board with the flipped micro switch you will want to flip your to get an easier trigger pull. With a Hybrid frame and trigger you want the micro switch to point down.

Sometimes with those sealed bearings you spray on a little wd or some triflo on (I prefer triflo) and use an old tooth brush to scrub it in and it gets the gunck from around the center race to free it up.

thanks for the responses everyone. The wd40 appears to have seeped into the bearings and I was able to use a punch to move the trigger off the side of the frame so it moves alot more freely now.

The board I currently have is an old Dynasty board with the micro switch pointed up. It game with an old shocker I just picked up.

I noticed that the bottom screw didn't seem to be hitting anything, which is probably why the trigger didn't return at all.

I'm assuming that if I get a new board with the mircroswitch pointed down, then the trigger will actually be able to return properly.

No the trigger will still work with the micro switch pointed up, it will just be a slightly harder pull. All newer boards come pointed up. You will have to find a really old board to find one pointed down. Easier to just flip it your self if you know how to solder.

I'll take a peak at mine later but its running the switch up like normal. I think I removed the pin and used the middle screw for the switch.
