Macro fitting in regulator problem

So I had my SFT at the field. Used a friend's bad tank apparently and it blew the c clip and mesh screen out of the fitting. No issues there as I'll just replace the macro fitting. Here is the problem. I can not get this thing to unscrew from the regulator. Are there any tricks to getting this off. it's not the typical swivel 90' fitting. Its a non swivel with no place for a wrench like most. Having trouble uploading a picture but I've copied a link of the pic for you to click on. Thanks for any help.

spot for wrench is the flat surface on the fitting. you can actually use an adjustable spanner on the front of the fitting itself to unscrew it if you wanted. nothing special really.

I figured the flat area was for a wrench but I've tried a few sizes that seem to fit it but can not get it to come off. Specially the reg off the gun. Back when I was a motorcycle tech we'd heat up bolts to loosen them if they were stupid tight. like this fitting is. Would it be practical and or smart to try and heat the fitting up a little, not heating the reg to try that? Anywyas, thanks for the reply.

you could try to heat it a bit, do you have a vice to put the reg in so you can get more leverage?

You could always stick a 3/16 hex wrench up into the macro fitting and use the hex wrench to get you extra leverage to unscrew it. That's what I do with fittings like that.

Update. I tried the hex wrench/long Allen key. Had no luck. I then grabbed a pair of channel locks and was able to pop it loose. Still can't believe that it was that tight. Either way now that it's off, I figure I'll clean the reg out too. Thanks all for the input
