New Forum=New Rules= New Post
Well I have recently been convinced into getting back into paintball from my friends after a 2 year hiatus. My last gun of tournament standard (Nasty Shocker) was stolen over the summer and now I am seeing myself buying a new gun. the prices have gone down considerably for high-end gun and it seems there is a new standard in the intermediate level. Not having been to a field in a couple years I am very lacking in experience with all these new gun designs and their performance. What I am mainly intested in yalls hands on experience with the following guns:
Ion
Epiphany
Nerve
Shocker
Impulse
So basicly just the latest generation of smart parts guns. Like I said i owned a shocker sft andit rocked, threw paint like darts. Before that gun I owned a nasty impulse and it was superb for its time but was a bit inconsistent. The shocker wasnt all that consistent either because the regulator seemed to be the worst max-flo I have ever seen. Horrible design, not even a gauge. The shocker was light-years faster though and a bit more accurate.
What I am mainly concernd with in terms of performace are the following criteria
Speed (Out of box)
Efficiency (Shots from a 48ci/4500)
Crono Efficiency (+/- bps, Out of box vs necessary upgrades)
Profile (Front player perspective perferably)
Weight (Im not weak, but impulses tricked out were a bit heavy)
Accuracy & Range (Im afraid Ions wont perform like the rest of them, but logic seems to reason that all the guns would have identical range if not even accuracy after effectively setup)
Components (Are the stock boards different for each marker, are the max-flo regulators all the same (at least internaly?)
I understand this is a long post, but I figured since this is a new forum it will have alot of traffic and with no posts people might be willing to help an old schooler out of the dark. My last account got banned a long time ago (by near-fascists reasoning forever.)
My choice in guns is limited to under $500 (need a N2 tank too, got stolen with gun) so i was considering the following
Upped Ion w/ Stage 1-4 upgraded
Epiphany
Nerve
I am starting to think the Nerve would be the greatest, cheapest choice of a tournament marker. Im gonna use it mostly for weekend warring but I would like to join a novice tournament every month or so. So any suggestions or advice yall could impart would be greatly appreciated and reciprocated. Also your choice in nitrogen systems could help me find a good brand because my last Pure Energy was a POS. Thanks and happy shooting all you Epiphany owners.
