Master XTS started this thread elsewhere and I think it's a good idea. I have yet to see another person using an XTS on the field! With so few of us around, we NEED a support group!

I own a basic XTS (the black one made for field rental)
I've reversed the stock bottomline adapter.
I use a 3000/47 w/ preset bulldog.
Lapco Bigshot
Dye stickies
M16 style foregrip (needed a bicycle grip to get it to fit on the barrel)
Starfire bolt (helped w/ chamber breaks)
Home made sling bail
Home grown trigger job (shortens trigger pull before sear release)
filed and sanded breech to aid ammo feeding (not worth the effort)
Crossfire red dot sight

Future plans:
Cheap homemade "L" shoulder stock
Micro or Macro line (reversing the bottomline and adjusting the line to make room for the N2 tank leaves me w/ 2 inches or so excess line and it gets in the way of the fill nipple when I screw the tank on and off)

Anyone else?

hmm

well i bought my XTS at a local wal mart when they went on sale. i bought it after a 3 year hiadeous of playing.. it is the plain and simple red splashed gun.

i bought a 16 inch CP barrel but it was a tad to long so i went back and bought a 12 inch CP barrel. i run a 9V revvy, 20 oz tank which is a bit to big for me and im going to buy a 14oz insteed.
i did my own trigger job to decrease the side to side trigger play the gun had. involving super glue and aluminum foil.

i was running a 32* spiral remote but now im also working on a drop reverse. the aluminum is at my shop getting cut and cleaned and tapped how i want it. it is going to mount the bottom line in reverse so the bottle goes forward. and it is going to move it back about 1-2 inchs. aught to balance the gun better and allow me to pull it closer and be more compact in a bunker.

I also have the sheridan expansion chamber. my gun was shooting snow when i first bought it.

i just ordered the bolt but havent had time to try it out.

also at the machine shop i work at im looking at getting the cocking rod made out of titainium to lower the recipracting parts weight.

I don't know if it makes him a *******, but it is a bit of a difference in price. Maybe he wanted something that didn't need batteries to work.

A "pre-anodized barrel," what's that about? Why wouldn't you want it anodized, is it cheaper or something?

hey cold, shut the **** up. and a pre anodized barrel is a barrel that comes with an ano job when u buy it. and yes, it is cheaper than getting an aftermarket ano job.

I see,

So it's ano'd before you buy it (like most barrels and markers).
I thought you meant you were buying it w/ out anodization (if that's a word), I got it now.

How do you like your XTS? Do you have an Angel?
What else have you used and how do you feel the XTS stands up to the range of markers?

To the Moderator: Sorry about the asterisks!

Stop the flames guys. first and final warning!

just for the record cold: i happen to have 3 angels yet i own a XTS as well.. just because some one has a high end marker dosnt mean they all of a sudden are "too good" for a low end gun.

ok finnigan, i dont really have an angel (although i wish i did). I do really think the XTS is a damn nice gun, its pretty consistant right outta the box too. Its also very, very, good on C02. Its gets about 1100 paintballs outta one 12 oz tank. And its easy to field strip. Although i haven't shot many guns,(Trracer S/A, Trracer pump, Shocker 4x4 sport) i think the sheridan XTS is a really good gun for the $$$.

Not to be a jerk, but

w/ all the nice things you have to say about your XTS, why do you want an Angel?
I've never used an Angel, but I do know my XTS never (and I mean never) breaks down. What more could I ask?

Actually I just bought a Nova 700 for something new to play with. But I won't get rid of my XTS.

well finnigan, i'd want an angel cuz, well, they're angels! angels r awesome. and i'd take an angel over an xts anyday. the xts still rocks but an angel beats it, ten fold. if u'd take an angel over a stock xts, u shouldn't be playin paintball. (and my xts does have a few problems, its got 1 h e l l of a C02 leak, i think its the 0-rings)

I guess it's just schools of thought.

I have an aversion to electronic guns. I like to own things that I can most likely repair myself. That, and I don't have $1500 to drop on paintball!
The Angel craze seems to me to be very much like the Harley craze.

I know an Angel can outshoot my XTS, but I only shoot about 4 bps on avreage anyway.

I'd also be affraid to drop and scratch a $1500 marker.

To each his own I guess.

I hope you get your Angel.

I'd like to help you w/ your XTS leak.

Where does it leak from, and under what conditions?

i used to have a JTX and i never saw another person with one...i saw XTS's but never mine...sheridan changed the model name after about a month of production so i considered it a rarity.

recently sold it to a friend who was just getting into the game and bought myself a tippmann, but the sheridan served me as well as anyone can ask for.

leakage...

the sheridan leaks from the barrel sometimes. And when i pull the bolt back it leaks from there. I'm pretty damn sure its the valve 0-rings, the guy i bought it from said it was. And hes a pb veteran.

the cup seal/ valve seat is the plastic ring that the stem sits on to seal the valve. its part of the brass plug that screws into the valve body.
