ETEK Vs. NXT Shocker
my friend recently purchased a NXT shocker (dust black), and i recently got my Urban ETEK ego.
Similaritys:
~Reg placement: the regs are both forward from the frame to allow people whom wrap their hands around the reg to do so (unlike the horrid placement on the Dye markers)
The NXT
~Spool valve
~barely considered efficeint
~Roller bearing trigger
~Set-screw holds trigger in
~internals are set with screws (no pins)
~Nice flow on the body (milling wise)
~Internals are oring dependant, and are mildly difficult to remove
~Prone to FSDO, but is easily cured
~Instant ON
~eye off on the fly (just barely tap the button)
~Uses ION reg (i think its kinda meh.. myself)
~Feedneck uses orings (we both hate this with a passion)
~Frame has a hump and feels ergonomic
~grips are the shocker grips, held in with 2 screws
~the grips do not mold to the body like PE grips do
~comes with NON-Purge asa stock
~you have to use a wrench to adjust the regulator
~Has a cool little snatch grip
~uses spring for the trigger
~board is limited (nerve board reminiscent)
~Impulse threaded
~Heavier than etek
ETEK
~stack tube
~better effiecientcy (not cyborg status, but reasonably close)
~Bearing-less trigger (come on Planet eclipse, people want/need bearing triggers)
~trigger holds pin in
~very bland body

(keeps me from having to get out the Q-tips to clean)
~internals are less oring dependant
~Maintenance = peice of Cake
~uses very good reg (star)
~eyes have instant off too
~Clamping feedneck
~uses LPR
~Frame feels great in your hand
~Grips mold right up to the frame
~Purge ASA stock
~Kick-*** metal case... Stock!
~Autococker threaded
~board is limited, but alteast has PSP useable ramping
~Spring return
~a little lighter than NXT shocker
My opinion:
The etek is nice if you like ego style markers, and you have $699, but if you want to squeze every last bit of performance from your hard earned $699 you
should buy the NXT shocker
NXT shocker: 9.6/10
maintenance =
ETEK ego: 9.1/10
lack of bearing trigger
thats my review!
