viking was a great gun back when it came out but outdated and not many if any ups to get for it, etek is a newer downgraded version of an ego you make the choice.

Hey all I am having a very hard time desiding from the shocker, Dm5, PM6, and Etek. I am swaying more towards the Etek becuase it is fast, light, and easy to clean. I have heard that the other guns break down alot aspecially the shocker but I have also heard ppl raving about it.
Please help me and give me the Pros and Cons

The reason I've never bought a DM or PM is the fact that they have so many o-rings and if one of those o-rings goes bad, you have to take the whole thing apart and figure out which o-ring went bad before it works again. The gun techs at my local store (who are good buddies of mine) told me that the Eteks are much easier to maintain.

Damn straight on that, I used to own a 05 SFT shocker and it was a pain at times to clean that. The ETek is very simple to clean and maintain. Other then oiling the rammer and cleaning the bolt(which you can do after a day each time you go to the field), you take care of the Reg and LPR, and you can go maybe a month without worrying about them after you lube em up.

i used to have a quest...when it worked it shot amazingly, so smooth, practically no kick, and easy to rip, but so many things went wrong with it that i had to sell it...now i have an etek and it is a tank, its extremely reliable and super easy to maintain...it has slightly more kick than a quest but i dont notice when im out there on the field...after shooting the etek i dont think i will ever leave the ego family...

I'd stick with the Quest.

What was wrong with it? I used mine last weekend, granted, it did have a problem later in the day, as I didn't lube it, but it's good now.
When I played, I had no trouble vs an 06 Maniac Ego and an Etek.

dont get me wrong, the quest is an amazing gun. its just that mine in particular was a lemon...i had board problems, hpr problems, it would randomly stop cycling, the lpr screw just snapped in half, fsdo, etc. With my etek i have yet to encounter any problems...

Etek Vs Ego7
+Etek
Mine was Quieter than an 05 and 06 ego
shot nice, smooth, and with ease
maintanince was easy
rebuilding/working on it was easy
looks of reg/milling to some people
- Etek
no qevs
looks of reg/milling to some people
+Ego7
All the changes from 05/06-07
weight (nothing to it)
kick is alot less
not as loud
small
etc
-Ego7
couldnt find anything accept it may be too small to some people,
built in rammer housing to some people who want they're gun annod
overall
Etek= 8/10
Ego7 10/10
if the etek had qevs, and was compatible with the ego7 it would have 2 more stars. but comparing a high rated mid class gun to a high rated highclass gun is a bit different.
if you have no more than 600$ i would suggest buying an etek, mainly because they're reliable and easy to work on. They dont have alot of issues and they're easy to adapt too.
if you have enough money to buy two eteks, the ego7 is for you.
hope ya'll follow
