Who can Atheiests Turn to

In life, weither its we broke up with our girl fried, had a death in the family or a divorce amoung parents, there are times where we all feel alone. This applies to people that are religioned or Atheiests. Who can Athesits turn to?

To themselves. As atheists we are our own gods, not in the sense of being all powerful but in being completely free.

Whoever they want.

It's not always an issue of God when something goes wrong. I rarely, if ever turn to God, and I'm not an atheist.

nail ----------> head
its about self sufficiency, not relying on a separate entity to give us reassurance, instead ressuring ourselves

Ourselves. Instead of asking a God, we turn to ourselves for the solution to a problem.

Its really the same thing the religious do. We are just honest about it.

Living people, actual things you can see, talk to, and touch. Not gods.

Friends, family, like MiniME said, things we can prove exist. Most of the athiests I know, accept that death, misfortune, etc, happen. There is no point turning to something that may very well not exist and looking for comfort. It's usless and a waste of time in my opinion.

From an atheistic point of view, no, you don't make sense. But it doesn't mean you shouldn't be allowed to do it. Capiche?

Whoever you want. All issues by all people; be them Christian, Islamic, Jewish, or atheist; must be handled internally and with the advice and "outside looking in" perspective from those around you. You can pray to God for all the help in the world, that doesn't mean you're going to notice His work right then and there, if ever. The only thing you can physically count on is your fellow human.

What exactly do you reassure yourself of?

themselves, they can take strength from their own positive energy. Why is it everyone seems to think you have to "turn to someone" for strength?

why does he need to reassure himself of anything. Perhaps he finds that inside he knows he is strong enough to survive and that life will just continue on as it has for millions of years.

Ask him, he's the one why says he reassures himself. I was just asking for clarification.
