No they were killing them because of their beliefs and the land they occupied. No need to convert a non-believer.

As soon as Christianity became legal in the Roman Empire by imperial edict (315), more and more pagan temples were destroyed by Christian mob. Pagan priests were killed. Examples of destroyed Temples: the Sanctuary of Aesculap in Aegaea, the Temple of Aphrodite in Golgatha, Aphaka in Lebanon, the Heliopolis. Emperor Karl in 782 had 4500 Saxons, unwilling to convert to Christianity, beheaded.

That is just a tidbit of people killed who would not convert. There have been millions upon millions of people killed because they would not convert.

well it could go either way. According to the Bible the wise man were tole by the angel that the messiah was going to be born in a manger and all that, which was before jesus was born. Like i said it could go either way depending on how you look at it and what your actual definition of christianity is

Without jesus there would not be any christianity. Those before were Jewish or one of the many other pagan religions. Jesus was the inventor of christianity. Christianity did not exist well into jesus's adult years and was an obscure religion until officially adopted as the religion of the romans.

nope, did you? the abuse and doing things in the name of religion/Christianity is not the same as actually doing them in the name of or directed by that religion.

The pope started the crusades. That is a church/religion based war.

The pope isn't the head of Christianity despite popular belief. That would be Christ. This whole holy war debate is kinda silly. Man can do a lot of things in the name of some purpose and not actually have sanction. Just people perverting their causes around something else bigger than they are to make themselves look and sound more important.

It is great how many christians to acknowledge their violent history. Any other religion is quickly classified as evil, violent facists when they use violence. Accept your history, embrace it.
