Life, Why did it Start

As we all know life to all of us is a great gift that God has blessed us with. Is this REALLY true? could it be possible that we have been put on this earth and to be put through all these hardships as a matter of punishment or discapline in more clearer terms. Do you believe that life for every one of us started because God wanted us to learn a lesson before we are welcomed into the Kingdom of God?

Erm...probably not. Ask a Christian and you'll get the opposite answer.

No, he created us, then had one dude die for us, so now we worship him forever.

Its all perspective. I don't thinik we were born for any reason. The people that do believe there is a certain spirituality about life...I don't buy it. Personally I believe we were basically an accident, a result of previous chemical reactions. If you want to know how I feel, everything is the effect of a previous event, including our very existence.

As for the dude who asked why...I dunno. There are clearly no physical benefits of worshipping him, its similar to ancient animistic religions giving sacrifices to the gods.

If you are learning 1 lesson in your life, you are not paying attention. God puts us through hardships in order to gain character we would not develop any other way. Read Romans 5:1-11.

He couldn't have us born with that character? Why even need character if we are going to heaven in the long run, why can't we just have a blissful and somewhat ignorant life?

and to drigerV88, I'm not scientologist. I am determinist. I don't know anything about scientology, lol.

Haha, for clarification, Scientology has absolutely nothing to do with any type of physical science.

No problem. For future reference, Wikipedia is your friend.

If God wanted to forgive our sins, why not just forgive them? Who is God trying to impress? -Dawkins

Threadstarter...we don't all know that God created this world. Some of us are quite sure there is no God in the first place.

From your abundance of threads, it appears that you have many questions and dilemmas that you would like to reconcile with yourself or at least find valid answers. Unfortunately there are often times not answers. It's really a matter of what makes sense to you. I'd suggest next time you have a question, go on google, and type in your question. That or search atheism, religion, or whatever perspective you prefer. The sites which google returns we'll probably provide more in-depth and satisfying answers than a small PBN subforum would.

Good luck on your quest for truth.

Yeah, was just about to point that out. You seem like you are questioning your faith, which I view as a good thing, though in some cases you are not supposed to test your god-but that is just silly.

What I would reccommend to you is empty your mind of everything you know about religion, and begin to learn directly from reliable sources. Piece together your faith from there.
