mizzuno (spelling?) track spikes are the best. mine have a plate in them that keep you on your toes, but I do believe as some one mentioned that most of them wear soccer cleats.
I am sure Logan will come here and give us his two cents on cleats/spikes the team wears/would like to wear.

Geis wears water socks........extremely light....and all the little rubber knobs give them super traction.

golf shoes are pretty nasty too ... especially if you can find them in a more of a sportish style like some of pumas golf shoes ... im thinkin about gettin these for next season though ...
http://store.puma.com/pumaUSStore/pr...style&siteid=1
there's more styles like these ... plus the spikes? i guess? are replaceable and they get ridiculous traction on turf and of course grass

depends on what you're playing on. track shoes are the best for almost anything, but they wear out quick and aren't legal with spikes in the nppl.
as adam mentioned earlier golf cleats are the way to go for the nppl turf. they make shoes that are like basketball shoes but with golf cleats on the bottom, that's what you want.

Adam Ramser told me golf shoes were the way to go like a year or 2 ago. I haven't been able to find a cheap pair of nice ones yet, but they look like they would be perfect on turf.

I am thinking about buying these cleats:
My question is do you think it would be safe to walk on gravel with these? The fields that I play at are surrounded by gravel and I dont know how fast it will wear the spikes. Also, do you think that those 4 spikes will provide enough traction? What other brand of XC cleats does everyone wear?

I go with Sprinter spikes so you can just expload out right when the ref yells go. They have a special plate in them that makes you stay on your toes. Spikes on gravel doesnt really matter due to most are replaceable.
if you are looking for extremely good track spikes get Mizzuno's (spelling?). Lightest and best for getting out fast on the start. I am an ace runner that is the only reason I have an opinion on this. Too bad they are not legal on turf. They will tear it up for the most part =/.

I saw some of the Mizuno cleats on Eastbay but didnt really find any that I really liked. I think im going to go with this pair of Asics.
They are only 30 bucks and seem pretty good to me traction wise. Do most running stores have replacement spikes? How much do they usually cost?

yeah they are
mine mold to my feet, but they cost 200+ for my trips to the junior olympic try outs aswell as my higschool track. They are the most comfortable I have ever owned, and one of my favorite christmas gifts. I had to get them from a japanese website, heh. only 200 pairs in existance =).
edit: I run the 110 highs, 200m dash, 300m hurdles, 400m, and 1600m relay depending on the day or event. So they are the perfect spikes for sprinting. If you have a questions on track spikes talk to me, I got my friends/teammates rigged with spikes for their style of play. Any questions regarding them ask away. Sorry for sounding arrogant on this topic, but I have a pretty educated opinion on running/running shoes/track.

I have those same ones. Just in gold/black. They work awesome with or without the spikes in. Of course, they work better with them in, but that is not always allowed. Like Brandon said I also rock some gold/black 90s indoor soccer cleats. I prefer the 90s at the NPPL events.
