Latest KPL News:
We have just finalized our reffing staff for the 2007 season. Division III team Cold Fusion from Greencastle, PA will be reffing all eight regional events. Cold Fusion has been a very competitive team in the central PA region for several years, placing second overall in the 2006 KPL series. The guys also ref the GPL series in New Jersey so they bring lots of reffing experience to the KPL.
Thanks guys.

I was wondering what kinda media coverage you will be having at each event or for the series. Will there be photographers and reporters. or would we have to supply are own.

I know most of the 357 Productions staff personally and I have heard nothing but positive things about the reffing staff at the GPL. That being said, I don't think there is any league or series that doesn't have issues once in a while... we're all human and that includes refferees. I also know the guys on this team and they are straight up a good group of ballers. I don't think we will have an issue.
Jc:
We are currently in an agreement with PB2X magazine for event coverage. Don't know who all will be involved with that but we will have our events covered in that magazine. We have also spoken with Kat Thompson (katspix.com) about shooting a few events. But if your that popular and want to bring your own media staff then by all means... knock yourself out.

I posted on page three that we will not be running a young guns division this year. We have not had enough interest to be able to hire additional staffing for these events. If we get more interest next year then we will look into it. You are welcome to play Division III.
Orange:
The latest I have been told is that 68 Caliber doesn't actually own a field, but uses various locations in the area. We will be holding events at Encounter Sports and hopefully Crazy Dave's. We will also be at Smart Parts AAPP.

We scheduled a Young Guns division last year and had only one team register for the first event. Can't do much with that. We are very interested in adding this division to the KPL, but first we want to get the D3 set and running. I really appreciate your input, and yes you have a valid point, it's hard to evaluate interst, but that's why we based this on last years statistics. We are planning on having a young guns and D3 division for our two charity events this year. If we get enough interest we will push the young guns ahead. We just can't financially justify a young guns division for only one or two teams. But we're working on it.
paca:
We need to finalize the two venues before we can set the dates. I can say that the events will probably not happen until late spring or summer. I will post as soon as I can. Thanks for your interest.

AAPP very well may be the venue for March. We are finalizing the date with Smart Parts and should know within a few days. Also, my partner will be contacting Christian at 68Caliber. Thanks for your input and suggestions. Much appreciated.

So if I'm reading this right, you could maybe play 27 games in one day? Minimum 6 prelim games, then best 2 out of 3 in an 8 team seeded bracket. That seems like a lot. I noticed a couple of venues required field paint only, so does that mean you can BYOP at the other venues?

Shuey:
Thanks for your question. I had to think about it for a minute because it looks like alot of games. But actually you wouldn't be playing that many. Here's how it breaks down:
Prelims: Each team will play a minimum of 6 games
Quarter Finals: Seeded teams will play a potential maximum of 3 games
Semi Finals: Seeded teams will play a potential maximum of 3 games
Finals: Seeded teams will play a potential maximum of 3 games
So the maximum potential games a team would play are 15, not 27. The elimination rounds may not go to all three games so that could be less. Also, the number of games played will be dependant on how many teams are registered to play.
The ONLY field that requires their paint is the All American Paintball Park. They have a specially designed shell and fill that was exclusively produced for their turf, etc. Every other event will be series paint, which must be purchased from JPM Promotions. Hope this helps.
