quest sounds like a shotgun???

My quest is as loud as hell. Are they all like that or is mine just special? Is there ne way to make it quieter? Ive already tried lowering the pressure as much as possible and its still a cannon, any ideas?

Are you dry firing it? If you are then yeah thats how they sound. I remember when I first got mine I was used to my PM5 and believe me I was shocked too. They are a lot quiter with paint though.

How broken in is the gun? Ours were much louder at the start, but now, you cannot hear the quest as any different from others on the field....

SHOOT LOTS OF PAINT, DON'T turn the LPR down below 100 or so UNTIL broken in (read Lu's thread on new gun owners) if the gun is new.

Finally, On rainy days with the barrell taped, the gun will be louder than normal.

stiffi might bolts normally dont do anything for noise, pressure and the amount of porting are "fixes"

we shoot one with a freak, and one with the "007" both guns sound about the same, the "007" is a little noisier if we are using small bore paint.
GM (platinum now) will not make a noise difference, but will improve efficiency, about 2 pods / tank... (our experience). This really increases the amount of times you need to refill!

Hope this helps.

If you think it is broken in then you can change the settings. As in the LPR and Dwell. How much paint has been through it?

IF FULLY BROKEN IN drop the lpr to around 80, You should see a decrease in noise with paint (NOT W/O).

I use a Sly on my quest, and it really changed the tone of the quest, it is a really short dry sound, less ringy than with the metal barrel.

That will hapen with any marker, since the Carbon Fiber and resin absorb vibrations better.
