jake - don't even get me started. i'm not making fun of you but why would ed take on a team that went... 1-7? was that it? he's already got our 4-4's and 5-3's to deal with
Maybe he would use the same rational that he used when he picked up 6 or so players from a Div 1 team to play pro.....specifically (a 32 ranked semi pro and 7th ranked Div 1 team)....im not making fun of you either, but maybe he could be looking for TALENT

Some where in Chicago Logan is loading up his verbal cannons and will be firing them in your direction shortly. But I'm sure you already knew that.

TALENT... A word that we use in paintball that has a diffrent meaning than in any other sport. Its funny how we look at what makes a great player in paintball, it's got something to do with talent, but it has more to do with heart, willingness to sacrafice for the team, and the ability to learn, to name a few things. Amazingly enough that is what I see with 'Lanche, and they have that talent thing too.
Rant over..

'LACHE in 2007!!!

see that, brock knows things. it's really quite crazy.

ok, here we go...

junior - i actually like jake, he's one of two people that actually challenged me at practice down the line (that isn't on my team anyways). i was merely trying to point out why the offer hadn't been made.

tscruggs - we don't even need teams, just individuals or small groups. man, i'm really not a rich telford fan, but he's right, a lot of kids today have no heart. do you know what i would have given to practice with pro players 5 years ago? two years ago? i post here before i practice, come on.

sschilde - i'm assuming this is shane?

32nd ranked semi pro - the first half of the season (literally halfway through the third event) we had lost a grand total of 3 games out of 30. we won tampa losing only one game. by moving to semi pro we lost 60 or 80% of our seed points... this was at a time where we thought we needed to secure a semi-pro spot. o, we also won vegas the year before when semi-pro didn't exist. then we ran out of money. the team still owes me money. we were paying entry fees out of our own pockets even after winning events.

you guys have talent for sure, but you don't think someone would pick your weak links apart? farside is only represented by more or less tommy, andy, and i right now. erik is mia, kyle got fat, phish got cut/left, and ben is ronin. the best way to stay together is to be just that much better than everyone else because if you're winning no one can say **** to you.

i'm assuming you made that comment because of what i said to jake, but it wasn't supposed to be mean (as i said beforehand). but as an observer, that is what it looks like. that wasn't the first tournament either. you guys play awesome in practice, so whats up with tournaments? dude 1-7? farside/lanche has never done worse than 4-4, ever. you guys are better than that, it obviously signals that something is wrong.

ha, naturally kyle chimes in as i say something mean about him. living proof that most of what it takes to be good at paintball is just a vindictive personality.

and i'm still pissed about that comment, it just wasn't based on reality.

I fell ya Logan, I'd kill for the chance myself, but realistically todays players won't travel more than 1Hr from home, I have gone as far as two to get a good day in against D2 level players in OHIO and will be traveling farther to get to all-american to get days in against the same guys and the Philly Americans, and yes todays players have less heart than ANY gerneration of player, why? Well its all handed to them, kids don;t work for their gear and paint and entry anymore, they ask mommy and daddy to pay and thats it. It seems that maybe I'll have to make the trip to come see if I can take advantage of what ALOT of people are missing.

301.8 miles to Chicagoland from here
318.2 miles to RTC from here

Somebody better give me a place to stay lol......

matrixp8ntballer - evil... long story, we practice them almost exclusively and last time i think we went a whole day without losing. voltage stopped playing 7-man. they were fun to practice though.

tscruggs - i've driven to ohio a few times to practice. we routinely drive 4 hours to detroit, st louis, indiana, 6 hours to louisville. our last farside practice was to new jersey, it was like 12 hours each way, ha. hell, i did it last weekend to go visit brock in st. louis.

i'm not so sure it's as easy as parents just giving their kids money and all that. i think it's really more the expectation of getting free stuff, since that aspect has changed so much in recent years. to be honest though i think both are an over simplification. who knows what it is, maybe i'm just getting older and bitter like other old people.

they really wouldnt have to learn a new format. im sure half of the guys play on teams in the PSP. i know Brandon Mayo has been playing for X-Factor since texas.

did you ever try goin to the badlandz?

edit - i just realized most teams out here in the chicagoland area play x-ball. which kinda sux but if you guys did do x-ball, you would have a lot of options: aftershock, voltage, and i wanna say thunderstruck but lately they've been doin horrible.
