Is your on/off screwed in all the way?
Have you oiled your ram recently?
Are there any leaks?

It doesn't sound too happy, and you've accounted for everything I can think of at the moment. I hope your solenoid didn't die. Has it ever been overpressurized?
Make sure its not just first shot dropoff. I get half cycles the first time I air up the gun for the day, but the problem goes away after half a dozen shots.

I can pull the trigger hundreds of times and get the same little tiny air sound...not fsdo.
I have never over pressurized it, the noid still clicks with no air, so I don't know what it could be
EDIT: The air "pfft" noise isn't coming from the bolt, rather internally whenever I pull the trigger...the bolt does not move at all...meaning the ram likely isn't moving either

Check and make sure your bolt pin is sitting correctly.

Do you have a Mac (WAS) noid or a Humphrey noid? There is a red test button on humphrey noids that force the noid to switch without an electrical signal from the board. I'm not sure if MACs have this feature or not.

At work, but do you know what the output pressure is from the HPR and LPR?

I'm at work too - no AIM here... If its what I think it is there's an o-ring in the ram assembly that has gone bad. Contact jack at AlienPB, explain the symptoms and mention the black stuff on the ram shaft.
What happens is that stuff is not very slick at all... the shaft is being "gripped" by the residue so it can't move freely.

Ah, I forgot about the black residue issue. Yeah, send the gun into Jack (fill out an RMA at alienpb.com). Its the best way to go, unless you are very confident about disassembling the ram housing, cleaning it, and replacing the orings (all harder said than done).

^qft.
You might be able to doctor it up with some lube on the ram shaft and work the oil in, but only certain oils are recommended. If you do decide to replace the oring though...I have completely taken mine apart before just make sure you don't damage the barb on the ram housing. I would suggest taking that off first. The black residue is from a oring inside the ram housing.
