they sucked the whole game. Terrible playcalling by Saints but terrible refereeing.

Of the few minutes I could bear to watch, it looked like the 2005 saints team. WAYYY to many errors. I can't blame the loss on it, but i did see some poor officiating.

Official press release:

New Orleans (AP) -- Sean Peyton furious over the blow out loss to the Baltimore Ravens has ordered all Saints players to report to practice Monday and write "I will protect the ball 1,000 times on the chalk board."

Maybe not but they should

They really played poorly and I was dissappointed. I think that the bye didn't help them. They just gave up some crucial turnovers that you can't give to baltimore. Most defenses would just take the INT and turn the ball over to their offense but Baltimore is so dangerous on defense that you cant give them the ball. A couple of calls by the refs were crap and that had a little to do with the game but I can't blame brees' 3 int's and a fumble by bush/brees and the INT by bush on the ref's. The ball just didn't bounce their way today and I think they will rebound next week against TB. They are a good team but they are young and make mistakes. Oh well, this will just make them hit TB harder next week. I think out of all of the bad today we had some real good emerge. Colston looked like a genious when the saints were down and out and he really emerged and took a leadership role with his 2 touchdowns and crucial catches in that 3rd and 4th down situation.

I have to agree, I was incredibly impressed with Colston today. He is going to become one hell of a receiver.

Yeah, he went 24 for 45 and 383 yds & 3 td's. Pretty good performance if not for the 3 INT's and the fumble between him and Bush. They just had some bad luck and it snowballed into halftime. In the 4th they came out and really played well especially with the lack of rushing.

Oh and I forgot, Marques Colston is 3rd in the league in TD receptions and 8th in receiving yards with 577 yds and a 17.5 yard per reception average.

Colston is going to be a force in the league in the coming years. The way he broke tackles against the best tackling defense in the NFL was amazing.

Oh and did anyone see the game last night? Laurence Maroney came out of nowhere... I freaked out the first time they gave him the ball. He runs with such intensity, amazing to watch.

Oh and Mewelde Moore looked good on his return for TD... Good to see a New Orleans native doing good in the league.

The Saints played one of the best teams in the NFL. Baltimore, from what I heard from our local radio, they shut down the Saints' run attack, which can be given credit for part of their early success. Colston did outstanding.

and btw, Laurence Maroney did not "come out of nowhere", he's been putting up good numbers for the Pats all season, just as he was projected to.

Well, just looked at the rest of his stats... guess you are right. I had just not heard his name much until monday night. Oh and yeah the b-more D shut down the run. Thats the only reason brees had 383 yds passing.

yea, he's been under the radar.

next four games

Week 9, Nov. 5th @ TB
Week 10, Nov. 12th @ PIT
Week 11, Nov. 19th vs CIN
Week 12, Nov 26th @ ATL

the Saints have a very good chance at going above .500 in this stretch, if these teams keep playing the way they do. They may even come out 4-0.

They could possibly, but I think ATL is going to be a tough game. Vick is probably pissed from the game in the dome and is going to try and prove a point. Now if that helps ATL or hurts them will only be evident when the final score is posted.

Yea, Vick will have their previous game with the Saints in his mind, and yes he will probably be pissed in some way and want to make up for it. This can be both beneficial and dangerous for the Saints. This can cause Vick to try and prove a point, and try to do too much, which can lead to mistakes. Look at Vick at their previous meeting: Vick wanted to prove he could be a pocket passer, so what better place to do it than on Monday Night against his division rivals? Vick chose to throw the ball in many situations where he coulda ran for big gains, and forced it into coverage much of the time. By the end of the game, Vick had a horrible night. Its possible to happen again, if he doesnt play smart. It should be a good game either way.
