Considering Onyx, currently own Shocker- wat to expect?

I'm currently selling my pewter 06 shocker. I owned an Alias before my shocker, and want to go back to Bob Long, and am considering an Onyx. How would an onyx honestly compare to my shocker in terms of feel and weight. Is it more similar to a DM or a Shocker?

What on earth Made you switch from an Alias to a shocker.

Thanks like going from Jessica Alba to Rosi O Donell.

And the trigger and frame on the shocker.... DISGUSTING.

So much lighter then any shocker iv owned. The trigger is far from anything you will feel on a shocker or DM, sorta a mix between timmy, ego and quest tigger in terms of feel. The frame is a tad bit thicker then the UL frame. Turning the gun on and off is extreamly simple where as with shockers you have to press the small button (hard for some). Best part, you dont have to worry about a stupid wireharness getting in the way of the power button like shockers. The stock reg is sleek and consistant. I had +/-2 over the chorno at GPL. It had the feel of an SL66 reg with the small amount of milling. It is also an extreamly easy gun to maintain once you fimiliarize yourself with the diffrent parts. This gun is accurate, small, light, consistant and effiecient. Now go buy one.

Ten thumbs up for the Onyx.

The onyx is heavier than a shocker But it is very well balanced, and with such good balance it feels really light!

Yes it was. I wanted to know what type of drug you were on when you did that and where I could get some.

my experience with my shocker was good. i love it, but the trigger and the unreliable noid made me want to go back to a bob long gun.

You will get better efficiency, less problems, less paint breakage, less shockerness in general.

Jack Bauer once went into a bar, and asked for a 'Jack Bauer'. He received three shots of Jack Daniel's, a shot of kerosene and four shots of tequila mixed. When seeing this, another man approached the bar and asked for a Jack Bauer. He got a 9mm round to the face.

I also had a shocker before I got my onyx, and the difference is night and day. THe onyx is a much better gun. Very well balanced very fast and easy to maintain.

^HAHAHA! Made my day! and I totally agree I have owned two of both (timmy & shocker). I currently own a shocker that hasn't worked in a year but I have had a DMC to use. I am going to purchase an Alias or a Invert mini before Christmas. I personally don't really like the Onyx. But I then again have never shot one or even held the thing.

im considering buying an onyx myself, and also i have a 06 shocker..

but my main problem is i have NO problems with my shocker whatsoever.. unlike many people (apparently) I actually know how to properly maintain it..

the stock trigger blows.. duh.. big deal.. get a CP or Slik and your set..

my only turnoff to the Onyx is.. THIS forum.. you see this thread saying the onyx is all this and that.... yet right above this thread.. (at this moment) are 2 threads.. one regarding the gun being inconsistant.. and the other about it breaking paint.. and since its a new gun.. no real answers to any of the problems..

I just cant make myself buy a first run marker.. from anyone..
its a double whammy .. first off you have to deal with all the little gremlins that come with a brand new release..

and to magnify the effect.. since its brand new.. there are no real answers to these problems.. gun hasnt been out long enough to build a helpful knowledge base..

not to say it will be a great gun, i WILL be buying one.. just not right yet..

dont get me wrong either, im not hating on bob long's stuff.. its just the nature of the beast like all other markers and even other products.. cars for example... no company can explore and anticipate every problem that can occure once their product lands in the hands of hoodlums.

i ALMOST.. i mean REALLY REALLY almost bought one the other day.. then my buddy's A1 arrived.. and after hoppers of paint.. the bolt broke (soft end) and the LPR developed an unrepairable leak.. some calls later confirmed.. the first run has "some problems" with the LPR and the bolt.. send it back..

brand spanking new out of the box.. needs to be fixed.

ill give the Onyx till the first of the year.. then.. GIMME!

Whoops I meant:
New NXT Shocker 2lbs 6oz (Stock)
ONYX 2lbs 2oz (Stock)
2K6 Timmy 2lbs (W/ 2K2 LPR and Stock Torpedo)

All weights are with Bottom Lines and Regs and NO barrel
