Teachers with guns.

Well, this morning a senator from Kenosha, WI recomended a bill that was allowing all teachers in WI to have guns in there desks. I heard it on the news and radio this morning. ****ed up **** huh?

That's stupid. Why can't they just set up archery or shooting ranges instead? A lot safer and just as effective.

I'm not sure if I understand you on this one. Are you suggesting that should a school shooting occur, the students would be able to overcome the shooter with the arsenal of guns in the PE department?

even teh school I went to here in CA had a skeet shooting team, and an archery team.

not relay, I know a number of friends in texas, a few in KS/MO area, and a few in OR that are all on HS shooting teams. Not everyone thinks guns jump up off the table on their own and do bad things.

Lies. Guns are the devil.

I wouldn't mind any of my teachers packing. So long as they are a good shot.

Dude you must suck at ready comprehension because I was just asking him to clarify what having a gun case for sport shooting would entail!

they have been there all along, its only in the last 10-15 years they were baned. THATS THE POINT, when people use to be able to have their personal weapon on them, you didn't see school shootings.

Ever hear of a shooting at school in the 40's? 50's? even 60's or 70's NOPE its only with the push of liberal gun hating nuts that our schools have gotten more dangerous.

I hate to use this analagy but, its like the war on pot. The more they fight legaliseign it the more people want it. Same with guns the more they outlaw them, the more people are going to do BAD things with them ebcause not enough GOOD people will be carrying.

In what sense? I've never had a non-school related problem with a teacher if that's what you mean. When it comes to grades however, all bets are off. I've managed to argue myself into an A in APUSH 2 tests in a row now.

What does this have to do with them having guns, though?

I really don't think this is plausible. I can't speak for everyone, but I've never had a teacher that I felt was compitent enough to engage targets in a crowded and chaotic environment. You can give them all of the tactical knowledge and firearms training you want--it still takes a certain type of mentality to handle a situation like that effectively.

Ok think about this

Guy comes into room with guns, starts linning people up..

a)no armed teacher, guy kills 6 girls

b)armed teacher kills guy, accidently killing one student in the crossfire.

Thats a net of 5 lives saved.

good point, but if the teacher pulls the gun and can't shoot because he/she is afraid then what? Does the guy get more mad and shoot more kids?

that is a extremely good point, and i would feel much safer if my teacher carried/had a concealed weapon

it would be more safe (like air marshalls), you may not notice, but when stuff goes haywire its handy for them to be there
