New Insight, what tank pressure should be the best?

I have a ninja pro reg on the ninja tank, I use an output pressure of 550 on my geo3/ego 11 but should I run the same on the insight?

Remove all the shims and that should get you down around 450psi or so and then your good to go.

I would only recommend buying a SLP reg if you plan to stick with Bob Long Markers. The SLP will get you down in the 300 psi range.

Good luck and enjoy

would it benefit me to get a SLP reg (outputs 300) or just take all the shims out of the pro reg and output at 450? First BL gun just looking for some insight... no pun intended

The slp would only benefit letting you shoot deeper in the tank before shoot down. If you plan on owning multiple bob long markers then a slp is worth it IMO but if you change markers a lot then the pro at lp will be just fine.

well thats just it, I have an ego 11, geo3, and the insight and will be playing multiple tournys near the end of the year (im in afghan till just before west coast open) planning on playing the west coast open, vegas, and WC... point of me saying that is that if one gun goes down or whatever I dont have time to change tank regs, I was thinking of just getting a second tank with SLP

If you can afford it, I would recommend a second tank with an SLP. I have SLPs for my Bob Longs, and Ninja Pros set to 550 for my other high-ends.

This is what I recommend if you can afford. If not just add shims as needed...just make sure the tank is empty before you remove the bonnet.

With Bob Long markers you don't absolutely have to have SLP. If you run HP then you risk issues. I don't know exactly what the maximum pressure at which they will properly run. 450 psi from your Ninja will be absolutely fine. That's where I kept my Nitro Duck adjustable set for my current markers. My Angel really does need LP. My DM doesn't need it but I run it there anyway. Even with my old ****ty settings I had no issues with the tank pressure. I don't know if my Gen 1 Marq can run SLP like the newer Marqs & G6Rs as I've never tried it. Perhaps someone could chime in on that.

My point is that it seems only Bob Long markers benefit from SLP. I've seen some posts where owners of other brands of markers say they run on it fine. I don't really trust it personally. I would run them higher where I know they'll work. So if you stick with Bob Long & you need to squeeze every bit of performance out of your Insight/Victory/G6R then go for the SLP. You probably wouldn't have a problem selling it anyway.
