avenger problem need some help

my friends brother has an avenger. its all stock but a new barrel. he has a j and j ceramic. ok now heres the problem he bought it used the gun shoots nice and works fine but after about 15 feet the ball just takes a sudden dive. it did that on the stock barrel so we tried a new barrel first. but that didnt work s now we think it might be the bolt or a spring giving the ball tremendous top spin.

and we are shooting at 250 fps and we did try at 180 and 320 fps with same results

what do you think the problem is? and where can i get these parts cheap if i need to get any?

Check the inside of the breech for any lumps, or metal particles. Check the bolt, and make sure everything is smooth. If you cannot find anything buy a new bolt.

and if thats the problem that we need a new bolt should we get the stock one or is there a bolt out there that will make the ugn perform better?

like a starfire bolt or some thing like that?

try www.dropzonepaintball.com as they cary lots of BE stuff. Also, I'm not sure, but they just might take Spyder bolts.

Trevor, they do NOT take spyder bolts...

there are NO aftermarket bolts for the Avenger to my knowledge

Check out the brass eagle owner's group forum. There is some guy on there who can make delrin bolts and stuff. Just look in a thread called something like "raptor delrin bolt" in the raptor/avenger forum.

You hafta get a custom made bolt, check out beog, a few people will be willing to make it.

It sounds like the detent (if i remember the avenger correctly, there is a ball detent at the bottom of the breech) is messed up, spring is probably rusted and stiff, so it wont let the detent come back down.

My cousin had the same problem with his avenger. He would shoot and the ball would go about 20 feet than go one way or another. I took the gun home and i completely took it apart and cleaned and oiled every part in that gun and cleaned the barrel realy well and we took it out and shot it and for some reason it actually worked, you might wana try doin that. Another thing that might cause your problem is the paint that you are shooting, if your shooting cheap or old paint your basically goona get what ya pay for

well we have cleaned it many of times now and that hasnt solved it and just last weekend we were shooting pmi premiums and some marbs and we still had the problem

so we have no idea what the problem is

anyways hes just getting a new gun

Just save yourself the time and money and sell your avenger and get a tippy. I think they're the most dependable markers out there.

man my friend spent an hour on his and then miraculously it worked

then he shot it a few times, and well.......it didn't work.
this happens so much i recommend getting something like a spyder or fish or tippmann or something that is halfway good
