swift and snmc
I am new to the area. I just got here from Tampa (MacDill AFB), FL about two months ago. I was just out at DZ today and really enjoyed it.
Yes, it is on Ft. Lewis Army post. A co-worker of mine (who just bought his first marker) and I were out looking at fields and stores all day. The management at DZ was very curtious and let us watch a few games. Our escort (ref) showed us all the fields they have and gave us a brief history on the field. DZ has been in business for five years. They have three fields...one speedball (large), an urban setting and a wooded field. All were very well kept and they even offer a concession booth doubled with their pro shop on site. They charge $12 for all day play with CO2/N2 refills going at $3 a pop or $5 for all day fills. They rent Tippman 98's and you can upgrade and rent an Impulse for $40 which includes 400 rds, mask and air. I can't remember what the 98 rentals cost.
The only catch is it is FPO and they sell Proball....$80 a case. The paint cannot leave the field, per military contract. So they have a file system to keep track of any paint you have left over and the next time you come out to the field they check your file and give you the remainder of the paint you paid for.
If you guys would like to ever meet or play together, please email me at havenway@hotmail.com or catch me on AIM as havenway, and we can arrange to go play wherever you would like too. I have been playing off and on since '95. I only got to two fields today and heard that SF and KC are really nice so I'll have to check them out soon.

thanks swift! I will try and catch you there sometime. I work a wacky schedule (K-9 cop) so I never know when I'll have off. Hopefully I'll be back in training on the 17th and that should give me some free weekends to play.
Haven
PS. Get AIM and we can holler at each other once in a while.

snmc,
thanks man. I added you to my aim bud list. do you know where you will be staying (living) yet? I live in Deer Creek Apts. It's out about 10min from McChord AFB and about 15 min from Ft. Lewis, just off of Canyon Rd and 112th St. in Puyallup. My family and I like it very much. Hopefully you have a place chosen, but if not, check out www.rent.net The base/post housing offices also have a list of houses and apts. for rent. Another site is www.willowproperties.com for houses for rent.
See ya when you get here!

Paradise Paintball
You should try out Paradise Paintball, that is probably the best tournament players field in all of Washington. They got a Sup'Air field, a wooded field, and two speedball fields in the woods. They are very nice and the fieldfee is only $5 if you buy their paint. You can use your own paint but field fee is $15. It is $70 for a case of Diablo Blaze, $75 for Midnight, and $80 bor $85 for Hellfire. Great people too, really good fields and refs and there is always tourney players at the field. Go to www.paradisepaintball.com

If you're looking for some good woods play there's also Rapid Repeat in Olympia, and Aces high in Graham.

Also check out Operation Paintball...
www.operationpaintball.8m.com
Located in Graham, paint runs $60-85 case (depending on type), free field fees with case purchases, 4k air fills (CO2 available as well), tourney and rec fields.
Come on out and see for yourself!

I went to operation for the first time a few weeks ago and aside from the sand on the sup air (gawd that's a pain to clean) it's probably my favorite field in Washington. Thanks for putting on a first rate tourney series too Bear

Yeah...
The sand is a pain, but it is there for drainage. First test was this weekend and spots puddled up because of lack of sand in some areas. Long term plan is to put some topsoil over it and get some grass-like vegetation growing out there. Then we might see some lighting installed for after-dark play sometime next year (won't that be cool?)
Anyway, thanks for the compliment and talk to you soon.
Bear
