I have an 05 interceptor. Marker is stock and the stock lpr had a quad on it, and it still leaks. Tryed various different standards and non sealed it up.

Ok, I think I got my LPR right. If the lpr is set bad, will it effect the consistancy?
also the front block seems a little loose. is this normal?

Matt Hemm: loose block means you need to tighten the block retaining screw. Remove frame, look under the body towards the front - the front-most retaining screw needs to be tightened- put some blue loctite on it. Q2: lpr setting... sure, too high would mean the gun kicks too much and you're using a lot of air... read the manual for how to set the gun up.

rammstein - I've moved all the posts related to answering your question to the other thread you created on the same topic - please continue the topic in that thread as there is no need for two convo's on the same topic.

their on ebay sometimes.

about the front block ive blue loctited that and tightened it up and it still comes loose, just wondering if their is something to do, if not then no worries.

Also i noticed today when your batterie dies you get lots of drop off and a huge pressure drop, never encountered that before in other guns thought it was wierd. But that battery is a weak old should i unplug it between uses or are the was just battery hogs cuz on my ion i would get 10+ cases out of my batteries, i went thru a case in 2 weeks and it died.

What year interceptor do you have? I actually use teflon tape on my front block screw and I've never had a problem with it coming loose again.

I would imagine having a low battery would cause you to have a drop since the solenoid may not be cycling completely. But the longevity of your battery is unusual. I've had the same batteries in my gun since last year and I can still turn it on and rip it.(get that urge sometimes ).

This is what I would do as a cost effective troubleshooting technique.

1st. I would reset your board. Procedures to do so is in the manual. Eye power and dwell can contribute to batt drain.

2nd. I would check all your wires from top to bottom and then look into buying a new wiring harness at Alien because IMHO I believe you have a exposed wire somewhere giving you a short with the frame which will drain your battery quickly.

3rd. If that doesn't work then call WAS for a board replacement. Should be lifetime, but they no longer have alien as one of their products so IDK.

last. The only thing left to replace is the solenoid.

goodluck.

thats the question... Maybe you've got a MAC noid in your gun which eats up the batteries faster. Recall that the MAC is a direct acting solenoid which does not use air to actuate the valve - it depends solely on electricity (which is why its faster than the air-assisted valves). A low battery would mean that its not cycling like it should which would (I believe) affect the guns performance such as you've observed.

I think though that the battery should last longer than two cases (dry-fire it much?).

Also, resetting the board might be a good start since the WAS has adjustable eye power so maybe you accidentaly cranked it up thus eating into your battery life?

I've got a WAS board in my timmy as well as my Ceptor and there are no drain issues whatsoever.

ill turn eye power to 5

its an 06.

I do dry fire but like 10 second bursts here or their to unair the gun, max flow dosnt have a bleed.

I dont see any shorts, it was just unusual, i may look into a hyperdrive board or virtue for the interceptor. But indys are out soon so ceptor will become the back up/rainy day marker

Put a different inline reg on it and try it - sounds like the inline reg - which is already too tight - has a dried out O'Ring...maybe

Because it can be a lot of things causing the leaking sound to be coming from the backend. Best to isolate the where its coming from. Great thing about the interceptor is you can break it down into the three main pieces(read manual for instructions). Air it up while its broken down and a spray bottle with some soapy water will tell you exactly where your leaking from. I would suggest doing that first and then we'll be able to tell you exactly what you need to do.

The last guy that posted did it on May 24 - I guess 6 months between is Ok

The biggest problem that I have had - and most guns have - are the solenoids get over pressurized and blow. Players naturally want it to be something that they can fix. But if it is coming out the small hole in the MAC (black housing on metal body) or between the solenoid and the ram on Humphries (white/beige housing on metal body) it's a blown solenoid and changing the gasket doesn't fix the problem. This is why we switched to the SMC valve halfway through '08 and for '09

well that is pretty much exactly what my gun is doing, but my marker still makes full cycles? would that be the case if the noid was blown?

Depends on what is "that is" but yes the gun can cycle fully, but you can hear the leak and it becomes inconsistent and takes more dwell.

Do the Interceptors use the same solenoids as Intimidators? I noticed that the Humphrey for Ceptors is the hea10a5, and the Timmy uses the hea10f5. Whats the difference between the two?

Ive got an indy that is inconsistent, an air hog, and it seems like it skips shots.I was wondering if I could just send it in to Alien and have them tune it and how much that would be.

We have a website for questions like this please go there and we will be happy to help you.
The problem is that paintball is expensive and for most player it's paying for repairs or playing so while no one would actually lie to me, every once in awhile somebody understates the problem and what has been done to the gun in hopes that the repair fee is less, so we can't quote exact prices until we see it.
Go to the web site - let me know if you bought it new (warranty - doesn't sound like it), how long you've had it and exactly what you think is wrong - and how did it get like this. I'll give you the best guess I can - but it's time and materials.
But please go to the web site

Well, I went to the alien website (looks great by the way, love the changes) and I'm not sure were you would like me to ask the question? Send an e-mail to the support address listed? I wasn't expecting an exact quote just an extremely rough estimate, or an idea of what could be the issue. I've only owned the gun a week, no warranty because I bought it second hand, and I received it in this condition. My best guess is it just needs tuning but I'd really like to have it checked over by someone more knowledgeable so I can get the best from my alien experience.

Yes- or to me - or to Scott, because he will probably be the one who takes care of it.
