how to smooth out the inside of my gun???

ok were i play i am alwasy playing in sand and i refuse to shoot a closed bolt gun. i just love my dark timmy to much. my gun has some good wear and tear but it dont matter to me. my problem is that sand sometime gets in the gun and scratches the bolt and puts groves in it. not a big problem take 600 grid sand paper and sand it down and the buff it on the wheel. but the inside of my gun also has scrathces and i was wondering how to get them out. shoudl i send it somewere to have it re milled or sand it or what. anyhting will help. i dont whant it to get to rough were the balls will alwasy break.

Thanks,
Nick

How funny, I was just about to post the same exact thing...playing snake on a dirt field isn't good for your gun. So, lets get some answers...

Never sand the inside of your gun.

i clean my hole gun after every use, but sand just keeps getting in there. i clean my gunt o the best i can . i take eveyr thing and i mean everything a part. well not the noid but i do have to do that one of these days.
well what are you going to do when yo are going to dive in sand. when the hold field is like hard sand it cand help it. just were i live. about the sanding i got these nice pollishing things that i used for porting and polishing the heads on my car. it worked real nice but this is alm. and idk how it would compare to that. ill look around and ask my handy father when he gets back in town and see what he says.

The only steps you can take are preventative. Polishing the insides of your gun can affect the tolerances and lead to leaks.

You're not going to clear those scratches up, its that simple. I could show you thousands of guns that have the same problem so you're not the first. Its not going to break balls because its got a few thing scatches in the breach. Just be sure to clean the bolt of well and run a battle swab down the tube every day or a few times a day, depending on how sanding it is.

yeah - clean it out between games - the advantage of a removable bolt!

Might even pay to run the bolt on the dry side - should stop stuff sticking in the lube and acting as sandpaper!

Don't worry about the scratches on the inside of the gun or on the bolt, they won't affect anything. If you really want me to I can take a picture of the breech of my alias, it is a black gun and the inside of the top tube is pretty much all silver from the anno being worn off, and it is the best gun I've ever used. Just clean it out real well when you're done for the day and keep her well lubed.
