Instead of air pusing against the ball, the ball seems to kind of roll through the air with less resistance.
The only problem with your argument is that ram/poppit markes do not release the air at the bottom of the bolt. It hits it just as evenly as a spool, although it is probably more turbulent.

wow that explination for trajectory is really messed up. first off, most people say just the oposite. one of teh biggest rumors about trixs ar their flat trajectory, opposed to ram driven lobs. never heard that? people always said trix had a flatter trajectory because teh air has less turbulance, and is more evenly displaced around the ball. quite oposite of what you said. however, i guess there is no way to prove it.

yeah i always thought it was spool valves are flatter, and ram/poppit are arched, lobbed, whatever. From my experiences, that is what it seems like.

Is it just me or are the rumours changing? Not long ago everone was saying the spool(rambolt) guns had the flatter trajectory and the poppet valves had the arc. Now two posts I read today say the opposite? what the........
In my experience it's all about how close the gun is to your eye level. If your eyes are above the gun(short poppet style), the ball seems to drop quicker. If you're eyes are below(taller dm/matrix type gun) it seems to hang in the air longer. This is what we call an optical illusion.

Does anyone have a review of a Legend being used in cold weather? Being from the frozen north it's not uncommon for our fields (yes even indoor where heating is expensive) to be -15C in the winter. This is what makes or breaks most guns. I know it's not winter yet but even a review in some fairly chilly weather would be interesting. I don't mean shooting out your back door, I mean serious use for a few hours in the cold.

I didnt want to make a new thread and i didnt know where else to post this. Does it need a gauge or no? I figure by turning up the velocity over a chrono would be fine.

Just got my blue Legend in the mail about an hour ago.

Cosmetic
Im pretty amazed at the size and weight. Very small and very light. The first thing i noticed was the grips, Hybrid of course but not the blue as shown in all the pictures, instead they're the grenade grips. Not that big of a deal, but still, it doesn't look all that great. Next thing i noticed was the anno, the frame and body are a little off as well as a few small scratches here and there. I opened up the eyes and one of the detents was backwards some how, again not a big deal.

Performance
I hooked up my asa and hopper and went outside to rip some paint thats about a year old. I chopped a few through the stock barrel but once i put my freak on everything was fine for some reason. Im guessing old paint. I cant seem to get this amazing speed out of it that everyone says it has. It might be me, it might be the settings. The trigger is nice and snappy but im still going to adjust it.

Overall
Great gun so far, I'm putting it to the real test tomorrow night and ill add to my review when I get back.

Im liking all the reviews, buying one when I get home in the morning (dang 3rd shift). When it comes I will post a review....Im thinking of doing one straight stock, directly out of the box...speed, efficiency, looks, stock lube.......ect..

Then 2nd try, goin with some hater, adjusted trigger and some settings(if i can find some) and I have a redz peppersticks kit.

Oh and by the way, its about 20 or so degrees out, Im in school at UWM in Milwaukee, but will test it at Apocalypse Paintball north of Madison, Wisconsin.

Expect it after xmas, before new years...thanks.

Dwell = 8
Debounce = 3-5
Eye Mode = 2 Flashes (Eye Mode1)- or what ever
BIP Delay = 2-3, and if u chop paint rais to 4-5
MROF = 15 bps
Eye Power = 10
Firing Mode = 2(psp)

this is very good 4 the marker =) and the opperating pressure is 220 so if ur "dwell is 8 and pressure is 220 u will have most efficient legend") ( says in manual)

The one i shot was very slow and shot almost exactly like an ego. The stock trigger is very weird IMHO

Personally I love the stock trigger but I wouldn't mind trying a cp sling. Anyone know if other triggers are compatible?

I got my legend a few days ago...and wow. It's sick. I have not shot it with paint yet, but from dryfiring it, it has little kick. It has a great feel in your hands, and does not feel like a gun that will die on oyu. The only thing I don;t like, apart from the dye sticky grips, is that the way the cut in the body(so that oyu can see the bolt) is, dirt etc can get to the ram EASILY. Apart from that it's great. The trigger needed some adjustement, but once it was adjusted, it was awsome. The only thing is that it seems that the gunb skips a couple of shots sometimes, and the pulse needs to be jammed in after I sanded it(i know you're not supposed to do that) but what's the use of a loader if oyu can't use it?

ight
so i went from a shocker and pm5 to a Legend
and damn im really happy
this gun is easy to work on
fast
fast
fast
shoots straighter then a timmy and ego
no kick
great on air

but one thing
i was chopping like a mad man using 2 month old HEAT
which is my fault for still having the paint but oh well
using a revvy doesnt help either

the techs at warped are super nice
everytime i call they help me 100%
if i have questions i call them and talk to TOM
yeah the big dog

but anyways this gun rocks
its worth the money
or trading
ive owned a timmy and its by far was better

get a legend

i shot 2 cases
one barrel break and one chop
the chop was becuase psp mode and low on paint
doesnt mix well

but this past weekend has shown me that the legend is worth the money.
