Dell 1520 (or Vostro 1500, if you're into black), HP dv2500t/6500t. All can have an 8400 graphics card, which will be playable at low-ish settings.

no 1gb gaming cards exist...

if you're that tight on schedule, look at the Asus G2S, it's about the closest you're going to get on that timeframe. Overnight from www.1toppc.com (call before you order, and make sure they can get it out in time) or just order it off newegg. If you had more time, there are better options, but there basicly is no chance of them shipping the same day you order.

I guess the Dell suits my needs. Any difference between the 1520 or 1420?

apart from screen size and resolution... and the availability of an 8600gt... none that I know of, really.

Just know that ordering a color other than black or white seems to delay the shipment up to 2 weeks, so keep that in mind.

I'm none too worried about it. Is buying from Dell my best bet or will I find better prices on newegg? Is there anything worthwhile around on newegg? My price range is in the 1k area. Also, it seems it only gives me the option to buy Vista. Is Vista really that bad at running games? Is it better to get XP, and how would one go about it?

dell with coupons.

hp has a 20% off coupon around somewhere (I saw it on notebookreview if you want to look for it)

macbook isn't bad... assuming you mean 1.6.

You can get very close to ideal with 1200 on a sager np2090, if you have the time (I'm not sure on what the shipping timeframe is anymore)

Yeah, mine's going to be shipping on the 20th. They're going to have to send it to my dorm at FSU though since I leave on the 17th. I'm not entirely sure how that's going to work.

^Read the housing pamphlet.
You are going to have to mail it to your dorm.
It should be:
Student Name
Florida State University
Room Number and Hall Name
Hall Street Address(call them for this850-644-2860)
Tallahassee, Fl 32306

When I realized my G1s would arrive sometime next week I changed my shipping address to Reynolds. Im hoping to leave new york on friday and drive up to FSU on saturday but if that doesnt work, ill try and make it there by monday the latest.

PS. We should meet up and chill.

Thanks, I'll email them and change the shipping address.

Yeah, it'd be cool to hang out.... I'll be getting there on the 18th, let me know whenever you get down there.

Did you buy a backpack for your G1S, Death or Jebus? I need to find something that's going to fit my IFL90, I think they're pretty similar in size.
