Hey, klev. Have you tried running cs:s on it yet?
Some macbooks have been able to run hl2 and stuff decently, but mine cant very well. Ill be upgrading the ram soon, but seeing if any others are capable.

Forget all these posts and goto Powernotebooks.com Got this for 1300
Its the PowerPro Hel80, this is one of the companies that makes Dell's laptops without the price markup and 3x the warranty.
2.0 GHZ Dual core
256mb 7600
1gig of ram
80gig harddrive
Incredible clear screen 15.4" "Glossy" WXGA (1280x800) Widescreen LCD w/PCI-e
All this including a 3year warranty (pay 4 shipping both ways) and lifetime techy support. I doubt any of these laptops will include this and if they do you'll pay out of *** for it. If you don't believe me check their store rating at 99%. I'm running any game I throw at it running high settings including Prey and HL2

Would this be a good set-up to run some games on?
Dell E1505-
PROCESSOR- Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T7200 (4MB Cache/2.00GHz/667MHz FSB
OPERATING SYSTEM- Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005
LCD PANEL- 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife™
MEMORY- 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM
HARD DRIVE- 60GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
OPTICAL DRIVE- 24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive
VIDEO CARD- 256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory
SOUND OPTIONS- Integrated Audio
All that for $1262 before shipping and taxes. Is that a good deal? Is there some other type of notebook I could get for around the same price that performs better? Any recomendations?

Ok, well i need help with buying a laptop. I need somethign that can run games and Flash/Photoshop really well.As of now ive narrowed it down to a mid/high end Voddoo Envy or a Gamer SLI from ibuypower. Price wise im goin $3000-$4000. If anyone has any input on what other options i have please post up.
Capatin - Avoid integrated audio, thats my opinion anyway. Get a nice sound card.

Mine is still better (if you add the extra 1gig ram). If you add a 3 year warranty to yours its almost $1500, my warranty is free.

The screen on the Dell(the highest one, the UltraSharp) is alot bettter than yours.... Just so you know. And ours has a brand name on it, that is acually known, not some ****ty walmart brand.
ninja edit: also, his is Core 2 Duo (Conroe) unlike yours(unless yours is, then you just wrote it wrong), therefore making it pretty much be better at gaming(minus video card)....

The WSXGA+ screen on the HEL80 is special in that it uses LGP Prism technology. The light is projected from the outside to the center, rather than projecting from the middle out, allowing for a brighter display compared to a standard screen. Dell definately doesn't have a better screen, no way, prove it.
If you did any research you'd see how many complaints there are on the e1505's screen. LGP Prism technology is superior in every way possible.
Lets also look at Powernotebook's ResellerRatings. Its at 9.99% for customer satisfaction out of 1099 reviews of the store. Not bashing dell but it got 4.49%. How can you even bash this company, if you did any research at all you'd know this. ITS A 3 YEAR WARRANTY with over-night shipping both ways , they pay! You pay almost 300$ from any other company. Wow go back to reading comic books and jerkin off w/ porn you 16yo.
EDIT: I'm no longer posting in this thread because I know I'm right and have posted the facts. I dont like to E-argue because I have more productive things to do like counting salt grains. Do what you want. Nothing wrong with dell.

For reference the x1400 plays Farcry, and Americas Army at highest settings no problem. It should be able to play CS:S on highest as well.
