my SP 360 QEV is too big, WTF!

I just got my SmartParts 360 QEV in the mail today. I went to install it, no problems, nice and easy.
Then I went to put the gun back together but the QEV is too tall. This prevents me from getting the body and frame flush with each other. There is about a 1/4inch gap between them. WTF!?! How is SP's quality control this bad. I mean the whole thing is only like an inch tall at most, but they added an extra 1/4 inch.

I may have to take some material out of the frame to make it fit, thus voiding the warranty, nice move SP Either that or cover my gun in duct tape to prevent debris from getting in

If it's only a small gap, make sure the hoses and eye wire aren't getting trapped underneth either. In some cases the body was flush but for others you will have a gap. just dremel out a little metal....what's a warrenty? LOL, I voided my warrenty the moment I got mine...

I have a 360 qev on my ion w/trinity sick body, and there is a small gap, but its like 1mm. you need to make sure all the hoses go in their places correctly, and also, maybe your board is not lining up in its slot properly.

Ok, this is a simple fix, screw it down with your 1/8th allen wrench.
I think you should learn to at least install a product before you bash it bro...

Most people that have a problem with the 360 being to tall is normally this.

If you look on the bottom area of the QEV there is a little swivel part that turns around the threads. You have to make sure this swivel area lines up perfectly before you attempt to screw the QEV in.

nyhl-dont start again, I know what Im doing

kolder- its how its supposed to be, I took it off and put it on about 4 times today. I did this becaue I was making sure it was the QEV and not something else by switching between the 360 with my old clippard QEV. I was also thinking about taking off the spacer on the bottom and seeing if that works

If you take the spacer off it will not seal and you will get a big leak.

Does it feel like it is screwing in all the way or only 2 or 3 turns?

Ya, thats what I was thinking, thats why I didnt try it today, but was going to give it a shot tomorrow

Ya, its definately all the way in, IDK, how many turns, but its a good amount, then I can feel the spacer just start to engage, then I get it snug from there.

Im telling you, its just too damn tall. Wasnt really looking for a fix, just whining

With the numerous amounts I have installed for people at my field I have never run into this problem. Are you sure nothing else is getting in the way?

I have 2 Ions and 2 SP 360 QEVs. Red/Black Ion the QEV fits fine the other it hits the frame like you describe. I have switched the QEVs and its still the same it hits on the silver/black gun. So the QEV is obviously not the problem. I have a silver body kit on that gun and I think that the body might actually be slightly thinner than my black body on my other gun. Thats all I coould think of, I just dremeled my frame a little bit and it fits fine now. I usually use my NDZ Clippard QEV on that gun though anyways, lol

I had this same problem, but mine was less than a 1mm gap...I just dremmeled out a tiny bit of the frame and it is fine now. My friend doesn't have this problem with his 360 though...go figure. Maybe his frame is a bit thinner or something, I'm not sure...
