Lower the LPR to about 70psi and lube the HPR, LPR, and ram. You can also purchase a Function bolt and Eigenram to reduce kick.

Those were just suggestions. You can sand down the ram and do the bolt mod to reduce kick also.

I don't know if this would affect kick or not, but you should use a low pressure tank.

No, it will not affect the kick of your NME.

what is the bolt mod?

My friend with an old 2k2 timmy told me to remove a coil or two from the valve spring so I could run lower pressure on the ram - is that a good idea? I don't want to ruin a good spring and have to find a new one somewhere

This is a similiar bolt mod:

As for the coils on the spring, it should be fine. You can lower the dwell a bit, but not too much. It will not make a big difference. Try shaving the LPR spring down a bit.

No, LP tanks have a bigger tendency to cause shootdown and have a slower recharge rate. An HP tank is recommended.

Lower the LPR pressure to ~60 psi and raise the dwell to 8.9, 9.0, 9.1 and so on until you get good velocity/recharge.

Won't work. Is missing the tiny lip on the end of the ram that is needed. I do believe 2k2 style rams will work will dia. modifications because they have that lip. Or if you want to add the lip on the ram. If anyone has the Alumaloy stuff, someone should try it.
