Alias barely shooting with dwell at 8ms?

I have an Alias that i bought for dirt cheap. Need few things. No biggy, i enjoy tinkering . Last weekend i bought a Virtue board for the Alias. Put it in and thing mows. I tinkering with the settings change debounce and dwell. Put dwell at 8ms, no problem with that setting. Hell, i even shot 6 pods with 1800psi from my 68/45. But i did notice FSDO before the game started. On Tuesday i tried to play again. Chronoed marker at 270 fps, left marker aired up and sitting in my gear bag for about 2 hours. Went to go chorno the marker again to double check the velocity and is now 230fps. Now i'm like WTF mate?!?!? So i raise the hpr pressure, no change. LPR was at 80psi, raised to 90psi barely any change. Raised the dwell to 9 and 10 not much change. Didn't play that night and when i got home i cleaned and lubed the marker. Next day (Wednesday) it shot fine with no problem at 270fps after the lubing. Used it yesturday for 3 games shot great. After that game it didn't want to shoot over 230 fps again. When i set the dwell it 8ms, it barely shoots. When dwell is at 9ms i notice big FSDO. I'm begining to think either the board or solenoid is bad. What do you think?

Did you try shooting your gun with your dwell at 10? It could be your solenoid going bad too. Try a new battery.

new battery, etc. as said above

It is also possible that you hpr is too high causing the valve to seal to quickly from exorbidant air pressure. Not extremely likely, but stranger things have happened.

Back both regs out, lube everything, replace battery, and reset regs. See what you come up with before you start blaming electronics

put lpr to 75-80.
put dwell at stock
replace LPR piston and HPR piston orings.
replace ram orings and lube with dow55.
put new battery in.

should fix problem.

*you have air in your tank right? I was tuning one of my guns and my tank read 1500. so i fiddled around for a while and paint was dropping out of the barrel, but the guage said 1g left. found out my guage was tweaked (i had no air)*

Lube the HPR, LPR, and ram. Increase the LPR pressure and dwell setting.

I did replace the battery. Reset both regs. The marker feels like it doesn't want to shoot more than a case. After a 1/2 case is shot, it wants to be lubed.

Edit: I put the solenoid in my Promaster, it shoots great with it. No problems what so ever. I'm so confused now. I hope it's not the board

i say try not to think about the board just yet. Do what other people are saying like replacing HPR/LPR piston orings and relubing then try fiddling with the settings some.

Lubed whole marker, changed all the orings, swapped both LPR and HPR, and put new battery in and yes i put the LPR at 80psi. Put dwell at 12ms now because 10ms is like 8ms (barely shooting). With marker at 12ms it had noticeable fsdo but not terrible. After shooting about a bag or two marker started shooting really slow (fps). Was shooting at 280fps then it dropped to 240fps all of a sudden. WTF

when it dropped down to 240, was the LPR dropped down from 80?

A couple other things to try or check

try a different tank
check for pinched hoses in your grip frame
pull your main reg and barb off your lpr and look for gunk build up(be very gentle screwing the barb back in,they break very easy!!!!!)

If you truly tried ALL of the suggestions from above posts then its probably your harness or board.FSDO does happen with timmies,it comes from the solinoid and can be cured by raising the dwell a bit.But since that didnt solve your problem and you've thoroughly checked for air starvation try borrowing a friends board.Sometimes they do go bad, but my guess is there is a air restriction somewhere your missing causing the fps fluctuations and fsdo.
good luck

Tank should be fine, it's a Macdev Legionair. Played at least 5 games with it with no problems what so ever. I don't think there can be a pinched hose because it happens all of a sudden all the time. Once I get my Hater chip board, we shall see.

What a shame...timmy isnt shooting....tisk tisk tisk

try degassing the gun after each game. A while ago one of my guns would shoot like **** unless i degassed after each game. Ill bring one of my extra noids and well see. It sounds to me like a noid problem. I use to have a noid that wouldnt work unless i had it at a dwell of 12. Yours may be even worse.

try swapping parts with another working alias/alias platform gun. that should make it easier to locate the problem

Heh, I dont think my former ProMaster appreciates these foreign objects in it

Def lube it, also check the O-Rings and poppet....

Edit: Try cleaning all the lube off of it and re-lubing it, who knows what someone used on it last.

could their be lube in the hoses restricting air flow?

Already lubed and replaced all the orings. Relubing the whole marker with in 2000 shots is a big pain in the ***, specially when i would like to use this marker this weekend for a tournament.

And no there is no lube in the hose.
