I played a tournament this past weekend and was blessed enough to be able to borrow my friends legend for the day. Before this weekend, i had never played with a legend, but i did feel it, shoot it, and see it in action. At first, i was not thoroughly impressed. It didn't seem to amazing to me. However, after this weekend, my opinion has done a complete flip. I think this marker is the best bang-for-your-buck out there.
This gun is light. I've been shooting a stock bodied shocker for awhile and the legend is lighter than that. It's not by a tremendous amount, but it's still noticable. From what i can see, there is a lot of metal left that could be milled off to make it even lighter. (future models?)
Definetly the most efficient gun i've ever shot. I am a man who has been using spool valve guns pretty much my whole paintball career. Matrixes and Shockers are not the most efficient guns out there. On a 68/45 LP, I had a fill of about 3000-3500, and shot 7 pods and a halo, with about roughly 1000 - 1500 psi left in my tank. I've never even been able to shoot 7 pods before so this was amazing to me. I also played two games and shot about 13 pods in one fill. I didn't check how much air i had left but 13 pods is more than enough for me!
The first thing i noticed about this gun was the critical style trigger. It's very smooth and very fast. If you like the shape of the critical style triggers, then you won't be disappointed with this. I'm pretty sure it's roller bearing and it's very easy to adjust. The whole setup with tank/loader is amazing. It's a very light gun, well balanced, and feels nice in your hands. I've heard some people say that certain guns feel like toys; that they will break because of the material. Well i don't think it's a problem with this gun.
I was shooting ropes all day. Over the chrono, it was +/- 4 with the stock cp reg. I personally love cp regs and always put one on whatever gun i get. The legend shot fantastically all day with no chops or barrel breaks.
All in all, this gun is worth the wait, and is not all hype. You will see for yourself when they come out. I'm pretty sure that more will be coming out at NPPL San Diego, or around that time, but don't quote me on this. I know i will be looking forward to getting one.
