If your reg is leaking, it means that the pressure in your reg is too high. Back the screw out and it will lower the pressure. To adjust your velocity, lower your HP reg so that the marker is shooting around 280 (sounds like you have it too high) or increase it as the need may be. Then increase your LP reg until your velocity stops climbing. Then back out your HP reg until your marker is under the field limit. It can be tricky, you have to make sure your HP reg is at the right pressure, and you have to make sure your LP reg is high enough or your velocity will be too low.
