My 04 viking is REALLY loud?? help
*EDIT*
ok i have a bigger problem i need help with. i figured out why i wasent able to addjust the modes on my pandora board, someone that had the gun before and put the board in put it in wrong and put the led wire in the warpfeed slot.
but anyway when i was tring to figure out what was wrong with my board i some how got it to default the eyes off when you first turn the gun on and i dont want that. right now i have to hold the trigger for a few seconds to turn the eyes on. i want it back to how you first the the gun on and the eyes are on then you have to hold the trigger to turn the eyes off. how can i do that?
also i got the dwell set at 10ms, mode semi, rof uncapped/20 and dbounce at 5
im going to shoot some paint tomorrow outside and see if this will help it shoot quiter
ok well im haveing a problem with my 04 viking being REALLY loud
i have a mighty max, scm-3 i belive.
the owner of the viking before me said the lpr is set at 72 psi and i havent messed with it.
the sidewinder screw is flush with the bottom. when i crono'd it at local feild its not that consistent .
i was getting 282 ...276....259....275....268......
it was HOT out and my tank was just filled that could of caused it but i dout it. all i know is that its MUCH louder than my other 04 viking i had way back. like when i shoot re-balls its ehh loud then sounds like the lpr is creeping becuase it gets like REALLY loud like im dry fireing but theres still re-balls being shoot.
last week when i took my viking out to the feild for the first time it shoot fine. it wasent loud or anything. idk if it was because it was freshly oiled or what.
idk what to do. i belive the gun is new cause it has like NO WARE on it. looks like someone bought it and only shoot no more than 3 cases though it.
say if it was new would i need to break it in?? i tried different barrels with it and its still loud.
please help me out.

Is it just as loud dryfiring? Should be even louder dryfiring.
I would guess that it would get quieter with time but haven't seen evidence for or against that. Noise never really seems to come up as a problem so its hard to say. It could just be your preception too. Somedays I can hear everything and I mean everything, other days its like I'm 80 years old and couldn't hear an atomic bomb going off next to me. Maybe you're the same way.

Consistency may be a bad paint to barrel match. I had horrible consistancy, then a fellow AKA Owner (Evilcocker314) lent me his Freak barrel. It helped quite a bit. Brought consistancy from +/- 17 to +/-7. I still don't know where this legendary +/-1 comes from, but maybe it just needs a cleaning.

that could be. cause the paint at my feild is smaller bore than usally paint and i could see how that could make it louder as well but im mean its LOUD and i was useing the same paint though though my older viking i had before selling it
im thinking about sending it to dc after Jared gets back from boston.

I only experienced +-1 once with my viking. And yes it was loud. Eve louder with stock barrel if you ask me. Just as loud as a stiffi also. But yeah you want a trade secret. Match your paint to barrel match better even tho its a open bolt marker. I would use a barrel kit with a long back like a good 5inches at least. Tight fit means higher velocity because less air being wasted and you can now lower your operating pressure and that will make the gun quieter. But it is still going to be loud.

yeah
i dont belive its a bore problem though. it may be some of the problem but it sounds like the ram is hitting the vavle hard, or the valve is not opening all the way.

Check your dwell again. Its possible your dwell could be set too high thus causing the loudness. Idk, just a thought...

i think everything is good now.

Check your AE (After Eye) delay. It should be the sixth blink. A setting of 1 blink means eyes are disabled. Try it at 6 blinks (4ms) and you can lower it if you think it's slowing you down.

doing an oring ram mod and getting a delrin pin helped a little with the ting/bang factor... also try raising your dwell a little... i always set mine to 12-14 depending on how cheap the paint is...

I had this problem several months ago (maybe the same)
Would you say it's more of a pow or a crack? mine was definately a crack, and it wasn't all the time.
I did two things to fix this, not sure which one helped. I cleaned the ram, took it out, took it apart, re-lubed everything, and re-loctited it.
And I took apart and cleaned the noid. It had gotten pretty dirty.
Those two things fixed mine, but mine has definately seen ALOT of use and abuse
Good luck dude

I had a problem like this when I had my old vike with pandora in it. It would randomly change setting on me. I set the dwell at 12, dropped shot mode.
Take to the field and it wold be extremely loud, eat air like non other, and the eye's were'nt in dropped shot mode...play around a bit...and it work all fine and dandy for a while...then it's back to actiing up.
Took it home, plugged it in. Dwell was at 30 and eye mode was changed to forced...
So I bought a Tadao board and all was solved

There is no such thing as breaking it in so it sounds less... its more of a desensatized feeling you get because your so used to it. My viking had over 200,000 shots through it and to be honest it was as loud as the day I bought it.
