LPR problem on Interceptor

Hi,

i have an 05 interceptor, got it about a year ago. Since i got the gun i have a problem with the LPR. When i turn the air on it will raise to 200psi or more...i have to shoot several times when turning air on slowly and after several times it will work correctly. I know that it makes this problem and i can work arround it, but i finally want to get rid of it, because iam afraid that i will forget it one time and f*** the solenoid.

Anyone knows that problem? Or does any1 know a fix for it?

thx a lot

Sounds like it needs to be lubed?

I'm betting on either a nicked o-ring or you have the old seat, that Jack will replace with a new one.

Then again, I switched to a Hybrid LPR

My guess is it needs to be lubed. Just put a drop or two of synthetic oil on the pin.

If that doesn't work, check your cup seal. If it is red, contact Jack and he will give you a new one.

I had the same problem, except mine never worked right at all. I got a new seal since I had one of the older ones and that didn't help it. I just ended up getting a hybrid lpr and now it works perfect.

I think i have one of the newer seats. I checked for a nicked o-ring but they seem to be all in perfect shape. when the reg is working correct...after turning it on slowly and shooting. It then works absolutly perfect, is not creeping at all not even after more than an hour of lying arround. The gun is super consistent.

Does the seat turn red when its worn out or something? How's that possible?

No there was a problem with the older red seals, Jack has since then changed to a different seal.

The Hybrid Verdict is smaller, lighter and better. If you want to lower your LPR pressure to around 75psi get the volumizer too. The combo is a very consistent set up.

i found out that the 05 lprs are really touchy, if your reg fluxuates a lot it will effect your lpr i've used about 4 different regs and i found that the older torpedos work the best

You must first replace one of the orings, I forget which size it needs to be though.

Hey Short,

Im sure if your like me you don't want to buy something new to sell your gun. Like a LPR. This is a weird problem, but it obviously has to do with the LPR. I have two thoughts when it comes to why the gun isn't regulating until after a couple of shots.

1. There are two orings on the LPR one separates the LP air from the HP air. Possible one of the orings is too small/damaged and it takes a couple of shots to have it expand or block the HP air coming into the LP airway.(main reason for me)
2. Is the Small LPR spring and pin is dirty and needs lube. Possibly after long unuse the pin is stuck in the back piston and does NOT regulate properly until a couple of shots. Give the spring a small stretch(Very small) and lube it with some dow33. Also lube the Huge LPR spring if not done already.

good luck,

Pdogg

And that's always been the problem with aftermarket LPR's. The o ring that seals off the HPR air (at the back of the threads) is to large to seat in the front block and is preventing you from screwing the LPR all the way in. Go down to the hardware store and size up the next smallest one. (maybe the next 2 smallest) and try those. It WILL work when you find the correct o ring. I'm using the Hybrid volumizer which for some reason fits with the stock o ring just fine. After a little "tinkering with the o rings the Hybrid will reward you with great performance.

LOL I tinkered around with my Hybrid LPR set up for a bit. Looks like if you find the o ring which is thinner (the more common size) but has the same diameter as the thick o ring in the hybrid, it will seal up. It did on mine. Good luck.

pdogg6: Perfect Tips works perfect!

Mind`sEye: I have some Oringkits lying arround and took one of the Shocker-Oringkit...and it is a bit thinner bit same diameter and i slowly turned on the bottle and was like...wtf no air...until i realized that the LPR was set to 0 And it had sealed perfect.

Thanks a lot for your input...you helped me alot.
