NEWBIE HERE..just introducing myself
sup everyone.
newb here (to the forums..and the sport)
i played a few times when i was younger...and after recently finding out there was an indoor/outdoor field close to my house (
www.jailhousepaintball.com
...i decided i would like to get into the sport.
a combination of things that lead me to this decission..
learning there was a feild CLOSE by.
been playing GhostRecon on xboxlive and was itching to actually shoot someone instead of just virtually.
and i thought it would be an extremely fun hobbie and would also help me burn some on the NUMEROUS acoholic beverages i intake so very often.
i was leaning towrads a tippmann 98c
but after talkin to a few expercienced players...i went with an autococker
heres what i got
1 Level 4 2003 AutoCocker Package- grand total incuding upgrades and shipping cost me - $530.45
Black Marker
Braided Hose Bottomline Kit(add $27.00)
Manufacturer Warranty (FREE)

wow
u really went off the deep end buying a cocker for your first gun lol! but you should be alright... check you the "helpful websites" thread to see some good sites bout beggining, and go to the wgp cockers forum in the markers section, you will find some helpfull sites there(namely the infosheets and vantrepes site)
as for what you need right now? go play w/ your cocker, its a tricky gun. specially for a nUb . buy a case and spend a day at your "jailhouse" field...get a feel for your gun, what u like and dont like, then the rest of you paint home and get a better feel for how your marker operates(reading about a cocker makes it sound 100x more difficult than what it is)
dont worry bout upgrades til u know what u want from a marker. but if you do want to konw, get n2 tank, u can get one relatively cheap and they are the BIGGEST performance upgrade for a cocker... co2 gets in your valve and front pnems and get ready to piss your pants ( although its not as bad as macroline bustin lol)
hope u have fun.

What?

Haha I think he made a good choice just aslong as he knows his boundries as far as what he knows about Autocockers.
Most reliable guns out there as long as you know your basic knowledge and don't try to "tinker" with parts you don't have a knowledge of.
Feel free to msg me anytime buddy. I have a pretty good knowledge of Autocockers and can pretty much get you out of a bind.
First upgrade as I see it...
Nitrogen/Compressed air tank
Barrel
Trigger frame

EDIT: mask is too small for soome, so try wearing one first.

thanx for the welcome ya'll.
yea..i'm not about to start tinkering with my AC...i've done some reading...but not enuff yet.
unfortunately...at my closest field..the don't have high pressure fills yet.
i guess i'm allowed to bring my own fill station. but i'm guessing its pretty costly to buy one of those?

oooh, cockers can make or break a person. I love them but for some people the fear them. Just the word timing frightens some. Don't worry, even tho cockers have a very long diagram of what parts do what. They are actually very simple to work on once you read up and follow along with the gun on what to do and what not to do.
http://www.paintballravi.com/Article...#3-way%20leaks
That is a good sight that will help you fix most leaks, timing issues and other problems that may arise.

thanx for the newsflash killa.
i got some advice to..
don't tug on supermans cape
don't spit into the wind
don't pull the mask off the old lone ranger and
wipe your butt from front to back to avoid getting dingleberries on yoru nutz
no seriously I think u should almost always do research on something before plopping down a decent amount of cash on it...and i did.
this thread was more of self introduction.
asking the did i make a good choice and so on was just opening a door for further discussion.
i know u everyone is entitled to their own opinions (and what fits them best)
but i'm generally a good judge of character and can read from what u say and how reply ...and then decide if i should take advice from u.

well then, good job
a good first upgrade would be a barrel, then maybe a bolt. After that look into a nice 3way, and an inline reg.
